The world is ‘greening’ at an astonishing and rapidly growing rate and deserts are shrinking almost everywhere you look. All due, it seems, to a natural rise in carbon ‘plant food’ dioxide, not forgetting the small annual 4% portion contributed by humans burning hydrocarbons. Inconvenient to the political Net Zero narrative of course – along with high numbers of polar bears, cyclical recovery in Arctic sea ice and recent record growth of coral on the Great Barrier Reef – so there is naturally little mention in mainstream media and politics. “Desertification is turning the Earth barren,” reports the Guardian, and the expansion of drylands is leaving entire countries “facing famine”. Great story, shame about the facts. A recent article in Yale Environment 360 states that rather than shrivelling and dying, vegetation is growing faster and deserts are retreating.

The “spiritual leader” of Just Stop Oil has received the longest ever sentence for non-violent protest after being found guilty of conspiring to disrupt the M25.

Roger Hallam, 57, a farmer from Wales, has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance for co-ordinating protests on London’s orbital motorway over four days in 2022.

Liberal-appointed Sen. Rosa Galvez, senate’s leading opponent of fossil fuels, in the past year jetted more than 100,000 kilometres to climate conferences from Casablanca to Mumbai.

An expert opinion, submitted pro bono last November to the Hague Court of Appeals by three eminent American scientists, presents a devastating refutation of climate catastrophism. Their conclusions contradict alarmists’ sacred beliefs, including that anthropogenic carbon dioxide will cause dangerous climate change, thus obliterating the desirability, let alone the need, for net-zero policies that by 2050 would inflict US$275 trillion in useless expenditures on wealthy countries and harm the poorest people in the world’s poorest economies. Predictably, the study has been ignored by mainstream media.

By overpromising and underdelivering, the climatological community has done more reputational damage to itself than its critics ever could.

‘We cannot wait for speeches when the sea is rising around us all the time,” said Simon Kofe, the one-time foreign minister of the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu, in a 2021 address. Kofe’s warning was the kind of boilerplate climate-change catastrophism to which all save the most dedicated activists long ago became inured. It wouldn’t have made any waves if Kofe hadn’t delivered his missive standing in hip-deep water, flanked by United Nations and Tuvaluan flags, and wearing a smartly tailored suit. The theatrics made the point Kofe’s formulaic rhetoric could not.

Rebecca Schulz — the minister of environment and protected areas of Alberta, Canada — sat down with the Daily Caller News Foundation at the Canadian embassy in Washington, D.C. to discuss how climate activists, along with the country’s left-wing government, have hampered Canada’s energy security.

Alberta is a province in Western Canada that is known for its abundant natural resources, especially oil and natural gas. However, the federal government in Ottawa — led by liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — has moved to restrict development in the province, harming the many blue-collar Canadians who rely on affected industries to make a living, Schulz explained to the DCNF.

The environmental extremist group Just Stop Oil has been repeatedly pushing the boundaries of political protest since it was founded in 2022—blocking roads, including for emergency services, and vandalising priceless (and, of course, precious) pieces of art. But some commentators reckon that its latest attack—on Stonehenge—will be the final straw, even for former supporters of the group.
