John Brennan spent years lying to Congress, the press, and the public—yet now claims he’s “clueless” about a DOJ investigation. He’s only clueless about how not to lie.

When asked why the current Department of Justice might be investigating him, former CIA Director John Brennan answered, as was his wont, with a complete lie: “I am clueless about what it is exactly that they may be investigating me for.”

Clueless? Hardly. Brennan knows full well that his fingerprints are on some of the greatest scandals of the last decade. These machinations have threatened the very integrity of our institutions and elections.

Kash Patel denies rumors he’s quitting the FBI over DoJ ruling on Epstein files

FBI director Kash Patel has denied swirling resignation rumors over reported unhappiness at a justice department decision to close the book on Jeffrey Epstein after administration officials teased a big reveal earlier in the year.

In a Saturday social media post, the agency director said: “the conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been. It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States – and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me.”

Over the past week, Maga hardliners, including Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, former White House adviser Steve Bannon and – reportedly – FBI deputy director Dan Bongino, have been strongly critical of a joint decision by US attorney general Pam Bondi and the FBI to not release further information about Epstein held in government files, including a so-called client list.

DOJ’s Epstein cover-up is a ‘civics test’ for Americans

It’s fairly rare that I agree with Glenn Beck on a political issue (he’s too much of a neocon for me), but he recently posted a brilliant thread on X detailing “five conclusions…for anyone who still cares about truth” on the latest chapter of the Jeffrey Epstein cover-up, this development unfolding under the Trump administration. (For brevity’s sake I won’t include the whole thread, but the beginning of it can be found here.)

Now, I’ve seen a number of Republicans and conservatives declare that to some degree or another, they don’t really care about the Epstein saga—and if you don’t, then you’re not passing Beck’s “civics test.” I’d certainly agree. As Vince Coyner writes, this is “far bigger” than a pedophile and his crimes against children (which to me, should be reason enough to care about justice), and it’s a position that Beck articulately argues in his X thread.

The left-wing media’s hysteria revolving around the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s arrests and deportations nationwide had cranked up to the next level. On Thursday’s edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, co-host of MSNBC’s The Weekend Symone Sanders-Townsend claimed people will see “racial profiling” as ICE continued to uphold the law. Meanwhile, another claimed ICE was “kidnapping” people.

Co-anchor Jonathan Lemire framed the segment around fear of “high profile clashes” in “Democratic controlled cities” in the country, where ICE was focusing their efforts.

The Trump administration appears to be targeting officials who oversaw the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s connections to Russia, examining the actions of the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey and the former C.I.A. director John O. Brennan, according to people familiar with the situation.

John Ratcliffe, the C.I.A. director and a harsh critic of his Democratic-appointed predecessors, has made a criminal referral of Mr. Brennan to the F.B.I., accusing him of lying to Congress, officials said. The bureau is also scrutinizing Mr. Comey for his role in the Russia investigation, other officials said, although the exact basis for an inquiry remains unclear.

“This is not immigration enforcement. Based on the reporting by NOTUS, they don’t seem to see anything wrong with this.

I have just come across the most remarkable story in the news outlet NOTUS. Its headline is, “Trump Fired Them. Now They’re Plotting to Stop Him,” and yet, despite its explosive subject matter, it is written in the sort of dry, matter-of-fact tone that one would typically associate with a report on the most recent meeting of the county drainage board. In fairness, too little editorial comment is a lesser sin in this type of article than too much, but, given the astounding implications of the facts the author relates, I thought that it deserved a good deal more comment that it received, and so, having picked my jaw up from its new home atop my keyboard, I resolved to provide just that.
