COVID only accelerated the blue state exodus

Where are Americans moving? And where, to make things more specific, have Americans been moving since the sudden onset of COVID lockdowns? Answers to these questions come from the annual Christmastime release of the Census Bureau’s estimates of the population of the 50 states and the District of Columbia as of last July.

Comparing those numbers to the decennial census count of April 1, 2020, just when COVID restrictions were put in place, provides a view of how Americans moved, or didn’t, during the pandemic and post-pandemic 27 months.

Trudeau Allowing Wuhan Flu Infected ChiComs Full No-Test Access Unlike Countries Without Idiot Drama Teacher Leaders

Canada ‘monitoring’ as other countries implement COVID-19 testing policies for travellers from China

Following a surge of infections, the U.S. announced new COVID-19 testing requirements for all travellers entering from China – but Canada has not said whether it will be imposing a similar policy.

“Travellers continue to be advised to maintain enhanced health precautions and follow public health measures at their ports of entry,” said a spokesperson for the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) in an email to CTVNews.ca Wednesday. “Any other updates will be communicated to travellers through a travel health notice.”

US to require arrivals from China to provide negative Covid test

The US has announced all travellers from China must provide a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country, joining other nations imposing restrictions because of a surge of infections.

The increase in cases across China follows the rollback of the nation’s strict anti-virus controls. Beijing’s “zero Covid” policies had kept the country’s infection rate low but fuelled public frustration and crushed economic growth.

From 5 January, all travellers to the US from China will be required to take a Covid test no more than two days before travel and provide a negative test before boarding their flight. The testing applies to anyone two years and older.

The whistleblower who could blow open the Covid lab leak theory in 2023

Gene therapy and cell engineering specialist Dr Alina Chan has doggedly pursued an investigation into the origins of the pandemic

If you haven’t heard of the whistleblowing scientist Dr Alina Chan, then you almost certainly will in 2023.

The gene therapy and cell engineering specialist at The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard was one of the first experts to question whether Covid leaked from a lab in Wuhan, and has doggedly pursued an investigation into the origins of the pandemic.

In the coming year, it is possible that evidence will finally emerge proving that experiments to soup-up coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) led to the accidental release of Covid. ‘Right now it’s not safe for people who know about the origin of the pandemic to come forward,’ she told MPs at a session of the Science and Technology Select Committee in 2021. ‘But we live in an era where there is so much information being stored that it will eventually come out.’

Canadians fined at least $15M for breaking COVID quarantine rules in 2022, data shows

OTTAWA – Canadians who were caught violating federal COVID-19 quarantine rules racked up at least $15 million in fines this year, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada, but it’s not clear how much of that will actually be paid.

The agency provided data to the House of Commons in the fall in response to a request from Conservative MP Eric Duncan.

Duncan did not respond to a request for comment.

Churches Still Haven’t Recovered From Pandemic Anti-Christian Discrimination

They’re picking up the pieces from disproportionate restrictions.

Americans are increasingly coming to the conclusion that Democrats irreversibly damaged the nation through their pandemic restrictions.

Nowhere is this more true than in the decline of American churches, which were gutted by onerous rules and outright bans that stretched for months on end. In many instances, such restrictions remained in place much longer than those on shopping malls and movie productions, driving questions about why Democrats were incommensurately tough on churches.

How Twitter Rigged the Covid Debate

The platform suppressed true information from doctors and public-health experts that was at odds with U.S. government policy.

I had always thought a primary job of the press was to be skeptical of power—especially the power of the government. But during the Covid-19 pandemic, I and so many others found that the legacy media had shown itself to largely operate as a messaging platform for our public health institutions. Those institutions operated in near total lockstep, in part by purging internal dissidents and discrediting outside experts.

Twitter became an essential alternative. It was a place where those with public health expertise and perspectives at odds with official policy could air their views—and where curious citizens could find such information. This often included other countries’ responses to Covid that differed dramatically from our own.

Biden Forced to Retreat as Military Troops Who Opposed Covid Vaccine Mandate Get Major Victory

The U.S. Department of Defense is halting all actions relating to its COVID-19 vaccine mandate after President Joe Biden signed a bill—the Fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)—that includes an end to the mandate, the department said on Dec. 23.

“The NDAA requires that, not later than 30 days after enactment, the Secretary of Defense rescind the mandate that members of the Armed Forces be vaccinated against COVID-19. As a result, the Department will rescind the mandate and is currently in the process of developing further guidance. During this process, we are pausing all actions related to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate,” a Pentagon spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email.

WHO calls vaccine skeptics a “major killing force”

The WHO doesn’t mess around. At least when it comes to spreading propaganda.

I will assume for the sake of civility that the WHO genuinely believes that the COVID vaccine is safe and effective. I will even assume that for most people the vaccine is safe, and at least somewhat effective in reducing the likelihood of severe disease in people likely to become deadly ill from COVID, such as the very old and very sick.

More investment needed to counter COVID-19 misinformation, says woman who was wrong so often no one trusts her

After a year that saw the highest number of COVID-19 deaths and a massive increase in infections, Canada’s top doctor says more investments are needed to combat misinformation about vaccines and pandemic measures to ensure Canada is ready for possible new variants of concern.

“This is the pandemic that is occurring in (a) full-on social media age, and all of us had to learn how to deal with that as the pandemic evolved. And it’s not easy,” Dr. Theresa Tam said in a year-end interview with Global News.

Government has no plans to bring back federal mask mandate, Trudeau says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his government is not looking at bringing back a federal mask mandate.

The federal government ended mandatory masking for federally regulated industries, such as air and train transportation, in October 2022 — but it still encourages masking in public indoor settings.

Some health experts have been calling for a return to mandatory masking as hospital emergency rooms deal with a surge of viral infections, including COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Public Health Charges Stayed Against Pastor Arrested for Feeding Homeless, Holding Outdoor Church Services

Charges laid against pastor Artur Pawlowski for failing to comply with an order under the Public Health Act were stayed by the Crown on Dec. 16.

Pawlowski, of Calgary’s Street Church, was charged for attending an outdoor Walk for Freedom protest in Calgary on Dec. 13, and for feeding the homeless with his church on the same day, allegedly in breach of then-Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s orders that “private social gatherings” were prohibited.

Peter Schweizer: ‘Vested Commercial Interests‘ and ‘Bad Science‘ Drove Government Pandemic Response

Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), Breitbart News senior editor, and author of Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, observed on Monday that governmental responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were partially driven by “vested commercial interests” and a corrupt fusion of industry with the state.
