Britain launches new visa for millions of Hongkongers fleeing China’s crackdown

A new visa scheme offering millions of Hong Kong residents a pathway to British citizenship will go live on Sunday as the UK opens its doors to those wanting to escape China’s crackdown on dissent.

From Sunday afternoon, anyone with a British national overseas (BNO) passport and their dependents will be able to apply online for a visa allowing them to live and work in the UK. After five years they can then apply for citizenship.

China Doesn’t Have to Lift a Finger to Push Biden Around

The Biden administration has just endorsed one of China’s most vicious attack lines against the United States.

The new administration’s actions look as if they are setting a pattern for its responses to Beijing on the disease and other matters.

On January 26, Biden signed his executive order titled “Memorandum Condemning and Combating Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance Against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.”

China gene firm providing worldwide COVID tests worked with Chinese military – may be harvesting American’s DNA

SYDNEY (Reuters) – BGI Group, the world’s largest genomics company, has worked with China’s military on research that ranges from mass testing for respiratory pathogens to brain science, a Reuters review of research, patent filings and other documents has found.

…But top U.S. security officials have warned American labs against using Chinese tests because of concern China was seeking to gather foreign genetic data for its own research. BGI has denied that.

…Chinese technology companies have come under increasing scrutiny by the United States and were subject to mounting restrictions under the administration of Donald Trump. In November, the Department of Commerce proposed a rule to add gene editing software to the U.S. export control list, saying it could be used to create biological weapons. Officials in the new administration of President Joe Biden have signalled a continued tough approach to what they see as a rising threat from Beijing.

So long as President 10% gets his cut everything is AOK!

China warns Taiwan independence ‘means war’ as US pledges support

China has warned Taiwan that any attempt to seek independence “means war”.

The warning comes days after China stepped up its military activities and flew warplanes near the island.

It also comes after new US President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Taiwan, and set out his stance in Asia.

The US has called China’s latest warning “unfortunate”, adding that tensions did not need to lead to “anything like confrontation”.

China knows they have nothing to fear from Hunter Biden’s Daddy.

2 Canada Post ̷w̷o̷r̷k̷e̷r̷s̷ useful idiots in Regina suspended after refusing to deliver Epoch Times

Two Canada Post workers in Regina were temporarily suspended earlier this month after they refused to deliver the latest sample edition of the Epoch Times.

The head of the local CUPW union that represents postal workers said both mail carriers were escorted from the building when they informed their supervisors they were unwilling to deliver the publication. They were suspended without pay for three days.

According to its sample issue, the Epoch Times was created to “bring honest and uncensored news to people oppressed by deception and tyranny in communist China.”

Good. I smell China.

CSIS warns Canadian universities about Alibaba’s online platform

Canada’s spy agency warned Canadian universities in August to be wary of using Chinese technology, including a service offered by e-commerce company Alibaba to help students based in China take online Zoom classes in this country.

Alibaba, which has come under close scrutiny from China’s ruling Communist Party after its billionaire founder, Jack Ma, ran afoul of President Xi Jinping, provides an accelerated virtual private network server so students in China can attend Zoom classes without lag. Alibaba’s “Alibaba Global Accelerator” service is marketed as a solution to avoid network congestion and reduce delays in communication.

Opposition calls on Canadian government to stop contracting out visa applications to China-backed company

Opposition MPs are urging the Canadian government to stop contracting out the work of processing visa applications, saying they are concerned that one of China’s largest state-owned investment funds is among the biggest backers of a company the Canadian government currently entrusts with this task.

As The Globe and Mail first reported last December, VFS Global, which processes visa applications in dozens of countries for Canada, is majority-owned by EQT VII (No. 1) Limited Partnership, whose registered office is in Edinburgh.

Espionage Risk: BC police trained nearly 2,000 Chinese police officers since 2013

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) has trained nearly 2,000 Chinese law enforcement students and officials since 2013, alongside dozens of Chinese state judges, according to a bombshell report from Business in Vancouver.

The JIBC’s international law enforcement studies (ILES) program, according to the report, has also trained officers from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, countries with a similarly poor track record for human rights, with minimal oversight.

Communist China blames COVID cases on Catholics, begins new crackdown on religious activities

Why does Canada have a vaccine shortage? – Thank that Idiot China Suck Up Trudeau

Why does Canada have a vaccine shortage? – Thank that Idiot China Suck Up Trudeau

Days after announcing deal, Ottawa learned China blocked CanSino’s vaccine shipment

The federal government found out that the Chinese government was interfering with Canada’s plan to test and possibly produce a COVID-19 vaccine made by a Chinese company just days after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the deal, according to newly released government documents.

The agreement between the Canadian government and CanSino Biologics Inc. would have made the latter the first company to conduct clinical trials for a COVID vaccine in Canada. It was also the first deal through which Canada could have secured a vaccine supply. It wasn’t until three months later — and after Trudeau announced additional vaccine deals with two other pharmaceutical companies — that his government conceded that its deal with CanSino was dead.

Yea, the first nation I’d hook up with to produce a vaccine is a murderous communist slave state that imprisons our citizens.

China Has Already Started to Test the Biden Administration

China Has Already Started to Test the Biden Administration

Not a week has passed since the inauguration of President Joe Biden — whose son reportedly engaged in business deals with China worth $1.5 billion — and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which illegally seized Hong Kong last summer, has already sent more than two dozen warplanes, including bombers, into Taiwan’s airspace for two days in a row.

China also issued a new law permitting its “coastguards to launch pre-emptive strikes without prior warning” on any foreign ship that might enter disputed waters that China would like to consider its own.

Wuhan doctor: China authorities stopped me sounding alarm on Covid

A doctor from the Wuhan hospital hit hardest by the Covid-19 epidemic has said he and colleagues suspected the virus was highly transmissible in early January last year, weeks before Chinese authorities admitted it, but were prevented from warning anyone.

The doctor’s testimony – in a new BBC documentary on the 54 days between the first known case of coronavirus and the Wuhan lockdown – adds to mounting evidence of Beijing’s early attempts to cover up the virus outbreak, and intimidate healthworkers into staying quiet.

How China could turn off Britain’s lights: Businesses loyal to Beijing are taking over our nuclear power and electricity systems

How China could turn off Britain’s lights: Businesses loyal to Beijing are taking over our nuclear power and electricity systems

In any future war between Britain and China, the winner could be decided in a matter of hours — and Britain is unlikely to be the victor. For years now, Chinese businesses have been quietly positioned at the heart of British infrastructure. Were a conflict to erupt, their employees could, willingly or otherwise, be mobilised by Beijing. In fact, they would be legally compelled to.

Biden’s First Signal on China: Fond Memories

Biden’s First Signal on China: Fond Memories

“I was asked a long time ago when I was with Xi Jinping,” said President Joe Biden in his first hours in office, as he swore in officials, “and I was on the Tibetan plateau with him, and he asked me in a private dinner he and I and we each had an interpreter he said can you define America for me, and I said yes and I meant it. I said I can do it in one word, one word: possibilities. We believe anything is possible if we set our mind to it, unlike any other country in the world.”

In Beijing, Communist Party leaders must be ecstatic. For one thing, during the 10-minute ceremony Biden mentioned no other country.
