The CBC has always seemed like a novel scam, whereby Ottawa takes our hard-earned money and uses it to sell us on the benefits of more socialism.

But when news broke over the summer that the public broadcaster doled out $18.4 million in bonuses last year, the same year in which it eliminated 141 jobs and went cap-in-hand to the Liberals asking for money to cover its $125-million shortfall, it became apparent that the CBC’s top brass could at best be described as champagne socialists — at worst, grifters who have grown fat gorging at the public trough.

Claiming a Paris vacay as a business expense justified by the ludicrous assertion that she had to be at the Olympics opening ceremonies is a new low in Liberal entitlement.

Quebec TV Exec to Replace Catherine Tait as Head of CBC

Marie-Philippe Bouchard, a seasoned executive from a Quebec news channel, has been tapped to lead Canada’s national public broadcaster.

Bouchard’s appointment as the next President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada was announced on Oct. 22. She will begin her five-year term on Jan. 3, 2025.

Bouchard has been President and CEO of TV5 Québec Canada since February 2016, overseeing the TV5 Unis channels and other digital platforms for Francophone audiences in Canada. Before joining TV5 Québec Canada, she held senior executive positions at CBC/Radio-Canada, managing various departments including legal, strategic, and digital services.

Just think, she may not finish her 5 year term if a certain promise is kept.

CBC president accuses MPs of trying to ‘vilify’ and ‘discredit’ her, defends executive bonuses

OTTAWA — The CEO and president of CBC/Radio-Canada says she believes members of the parliamentary heritage committee have been using her appearances to “vilify and to discredit” her, along with the public broadcaster as a whole, as she defended bonuses paid to executives.

Tait deftly accomplishes her own self-vilification. Just listen to this entitled nonsense justifying the tax payer picking up the tab for her Paris Vacay.

CBC president Catherine Tait billed for $1,000-a-night hotel to attend Paris Olympics

OTTAWA – Outgoing CBC President Catherine Tait spent $6,000 — including staying at a $1,000-per-night hotel — for just under five days at the Paris Olympics, an expense observers say is sure to raise eyebrows but is ultimately justifiable.

According to a copy of Tait’s calendar obtained via an access-to-information request, Tait was in Paris from July 25 to 29. She arrived the day before the opening ceremony of the Paris Summer Olympic Games.

She had no reason to be there. It’s not as if she was running around with a Go-Pro live streaming the events back home.

CBC CEO faces scrutiny over executive bonuses amid job cuts and budget shortfalls

Catherine Tait, the $497,000-a-year CEO of the CBC, will appear before the Commons heritage committee on Monday to explain why senior managers received millions in bonuses while the broadcaster was cutting jobs and citing financial difficulties.

Blacklock’s Reporter says Tait herself receives an annual bonus of around 20%, or approximately $100,000, according to records.

‘The “defund” narrative has picked up momentum,’ CBC president warns in email

OTTAWA — The push to axe funding to CBC “has picked up momentum” especially when it comes to television, its CEO and president warned in a private email earlier this year.

In the January email from Catherine Tait, obtained through an access-to-information request, the CBC president asked two people to volunteer for a committee being set up by the heritage minister to develop a government plan for CBC/Radio-Canada.

With months left in her tenure, CBC/Radio-Canada CEO says losing the national child pornographer would be ‘tragic’

Outgoing CBC/Radio-Canada CEO Catherine Tait said this week that dismantling the nearly 90-year-old public broadcaster would be “absolutely tragic” and politicians like Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre should think twice before torpedoing something so closely linked to Canada’s “cultural fabric.”

But Tait acknowledged the company has work to do to rebuild trust among Canadians who have become leery of the public broadcaster and its programming.

Tait said that, as she approaches the end of her six-years-plus tenure at CBC in January, her biggest source of regret is the erosion of trust in the broadcaster among some people.

No one is going to miss the pedophile network, except pedophiles.

In 1998, Canada eliminated measles. The highly contagious and deadly disease was no longer spreading in the country, thanks to high vaccination rates.

Yet today, measles is again a public health problem, in no small part because of misinformation. As few as 30% of children have been vaccinated in some parts of Canada, and cases are on the rise. Clinicians say it’s only a matter of time before more serious outbreaks occur. Europe is the canary in the coal mine — measles cases there rose from 900 in 2022 to 30,000 in 2023, an increase of more than 3000%.

$1.4 billion per year: Jordan Peterson calls for end to Trudeau’s massive CBC funding

Dr. Jordan Peterson has pointed out that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which receives over a billion dollars in taxpayer funds each year, has garnered less than 100 viewers on its last 19 videos, and therefore believes it should be defunded.

“I think the Conservative party has a lot of very valid criticisms of the CBC as it now stands,” nods the soft-spoken media stalwart Kenneth Whyte in a recent conversation. “And there are many more criticisms that you could make of the CBC beyond Pierre Poilievre’s concerns, which are mostly ideological.”

CBC’s The National shows hours of political conventions in the US, but only minutes of Canadian gatherings

Multiple political conventions have happened across North America in the last one-and-a-half years, and journalists have been busy covering them.

But while The National, CBC’s flagship program during the nightly news devoted loads of coverage to US conventions while mere minutes to Canadian ones.

I don’t watch their coverage because of CBC’S TDS and its knee-jerk anti-Americanism.
