Over the past year, the culture wars have been raging and one of the places where they have been fought most fiercely is on American college campuses. Efforts to ‘decolonise the curriculum’ and censor professors and students found to be deviating from progressive orthodoxy on identity issues have intensified, particularly on liberal college campuses.
The Atlanta and Boulder shootings were swiftly pinned on racism. The reality was very different.
Recently, two terrible crimes occurred which had either almost or entirely nothing to do with racism. The mainstream mass media reaction to both was telling and troubling.
First, on 16 March 2021, 21-year-old Robert Long opened fire inside three Atlanta-area massage parlours – Young’s Asian Massage, Gold Massage Spa, and Aromatherapy Spa – with a semi-automatic nine-millimetre handgun. Long killed eight people, six of them Asian-American, and wounded another.
Education’s in a state of transition.
Whereas before — it seems to me — the core purpose of tax-funded instruction was to teach very basic, objective facts in the form of reading, general history, writing, science, and math, these days, potent perspective and subjective theory are ultimately on offer.
A component of the government’s new service: a righting of wrongs by way of racial justice.
And at the university level, they’re really trying to fix our flaws.
A USA Today “race and inclusion” editor was fired this week for using her professional Twitter account to report flagrant disinformation in the wake of a mass shooting. In response, she wrote a lengthy Medium post that briefly admitted “regret” for her “careless error in judgement” but focused mostly on how the corporate press is allegedly “subservient to white authority.”
Oakland, California, Mayor Libby Schaaf (D) announced a program that offers poor minority families $500 a month. Poor white families are excluded for the sin of being white. However, illegal aliens qualify.
Per the Daily Mail, “An estimated 10,000 of Oakland’s 435,000 population are white residents who live in poverty,” but they will receive nothing, and only because they are white.
A San Francisco school board official under fire for racist tweets against Asian Americans has been ousted from her position after she refused to resign.
Alison Collins, who is black, was stripped of her role Thursday as vice president of the San Francisco Board of Education in a 5-2 vote of no confidence, the board announced in a statement.
Rep. Ilhan Omar is taking heat for tweeting about how “narratives” change based on a suspect’s “race or ethnicity” in the wake of the Colorado massacre.
“The shooter’s race or ethnicity seems front and center when they aren’t white,” Omar (D-Minn.) wrote Tuesday. “Otherwise, it’s just a mentally ill young man having a bad day.
Singh says he disagrees with MP’s tweet on racism in Quebec; doesn’t demand apology
New Democrat Leader Jagmeet Singh says he does not agree with accusations that Quebecers are racist after one of his MPs applauded controversial remarks by a University of Ottawa professor.
Nonetheless, Singh said NDP lawmaker Matthew Green, who is Black, has the right to express himself as a racialized Canadian and that every province and territory continues to struggle with systemic racism.
Imagine the MSM’s coordinated outrage if a conservative said this.
The black vice president of the San Francisco school board is refusing to resign amid fierce backlash over a series of racist tweets she made against Asian-Americans in 2016 – including that they use “white supremacist thinking” to “get ahead.”
The school district’s entire senior staff on Sunday denounced Vice President Alison Collins, saying she hasn’t adequately taken responsibility for the shocking tweets, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Even worse than first revealed.
San Francisco officials, including Mayor London Breed, are calling on the Vice President of the San Francisco school board, Alison Collins, to resign after tweets emerged showing Collins’ “anti-Asian bias.”
The shocking tweets show Collins accusing Asians of adopting “white supremacist ideology” and of working to become “model minorities” in order to take advantage of a “white supremacist” system that she claims is typically biased against people of color.
“Alison is personally committed to giving back to the public education system which helped her mother rise out of poverty and helped her father become one of the first Black professors at UCLA.”
The Root is obviously a hyperbolically racial magazine, since its slogan is “The Blacker the Content the Sweeter the Truth.” It’s not surprising that it frequently publishes writer Damon Young, author of the memoir “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker.” We’re told he asked important and dramatic questions like “Will this white person’s potato salad kill me?”
A novelist who spreads falsehoods about Black males and Jews is an object of white feminist worship
In a recent February issue of The New Republic, the reviewer Jennifer Wilson includes a comment made about me by Salamishah Tillet in her book In Search of The Color Purple: The Story of an American Masterpiece. In her book, she makes insubstantial claims about my criticism of the film, The Color Purple. She writes about my novel, Reckless Eyeballing, that I “turned Walker into the fictional character Tremonisha Smarts, who gains fame for writing Wrongheaded Man, a play about a black man who goes around bashing and raping women that is so successful that the white feminist theater producer Barbara Sedgwick wants to adapt it into a movie.” No such character exists in my novel. Tillet provides no evidence that the character is based upon Alice Walker, nor does the character Ian Ball, despite his psychological problems, rape women. She says that the assailant in the novel is “unknown.” She hasn’t read the book.
Call them the Woke Racial Supremacists.
You know who they are — and so do they. These are the folks for whom race is always at issue because they themselves first, last, and always judge others by race.
This crowd is overwhelmingly composed of members of the American Left — and there is a reason for that.
The reason is as simple as it is crystal clear. The main political force behind the Left in America is the Democratic Party. And, as I’ve documented in historic detail, this is the Party of Race.
Mayor Sadiq Khan says he wants fewer white men working in science and engineering. His plan to “fix” the situation has sparked a furious backlash online.
“There’s no good reason why 65% of people working in science and engineering should be white men,” Khan tweeted on Saturday, citing figures from the British Science Association. Khan went on to claim that “inequality costs people’s futures & the economy billions,” but reassured voters that “we’re working on fixing it.”
Throughout the summer of 2020, we watched rampaging Black Lives Matter Marxists and Antifa anarchists try their damnedest to burn America’s cities to the ground and create as much chaos as possible. Or as Pelosi & Co. saw it, “justifiable peaceful protests.”
As the riots continued, night after night, week after week, month after month, Democrat after Democrat trotted out before a television camera, or onto a CNN or MSNBC set to remind America that “far-right extremists” are far more likely to embrace violence as means to achieve political goals, and peaceful, “buy the world a Coke and teach it to sing in perfect harmony” Democrats were anything but.
