A man arrested in Montreal after he allegedly planned a terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State was in the country illegally, according to police.
Louay Angoud “has no legal status in Canada,” the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told The Gazette.
Angoud was arrested Wednesday at Place Ville Marie by the RCMP and faces three terrorism charges in relation to a planned attack with a chemical weapon.
