Mount Everest climbers were seen in a huge human traffic jam amid a record number of visitors to the major landmark.

Footage published on social media shows hundreds of people at a standstill slowly making their way up Hillary Step, a 40-foot vertical rock on the path of the mountain.

The caption of the video read: ‘Nearly 3 hours to cross this area due to congestion and difficult movement conditions at high altitude.

Craig Brentton Durando was granted a conditional sentence of two years less a day for assault with a weapon, robbery and breaking and entering — offences to which he pleaded guilty last October — allowing him to serve his time in a provincial correctional facility.

A Japanese man was chased down and mauled by a bear before it smashed through a glass door in a violent attack.

Police and fire department officials rushed to the scene in the Sasakino district of Fukushima in northeastern Japan on Tuesday after receiving an emergency call from the Fukushima Steel Works reporting bear attacks on two employees.

Security camera footage shows a black bear appearing and chasing an employee near the entrance.
