Femicide, which describes women and girls being killed purely for the crime of their gender, is on the rise in Canada—and one advocacy group is calling for it to be declared a national emergency.

This powerful imagery is the core of a campaign launched by a Toronto-based organization to get femicide to be recognized on a national level, a move which would allow for more meaningful resources to be applied to address the issue.

Director of Shifa Hospital is arrested by the IDF who say ‘extensive Hamas terrorist activity’ has taken place there during his time in charge

The director of Gaza’s largest hospital has been arrested by Israeli soldiers who say ‘extensive Hamas terrorist activity’ has taken place at the medical facility during his time in charge.

Mohammad Abu Salmiya had been held for questioning over evidence that Shifa hospital had been used as a command centre by Hamas terrorists, the IDF said.

The Israeli army raided the hospital last week amid claims Hamas terrorists used a tunnel complex beneath the medical centre as a headquarters.

Single department spent $160K at Liberal cabinet’s ‘affordability retreat’

OTTAWA — The Liberals’ cabinet retreat in August, focusing on the rising cost of living for Canadians, ran up a six-figure tab from just one government department, while any expenses from other departments have yet to be disclosed.

The Privy Council Office (PCO) confirmed it spent $160,467.17 on lodging and transportation at the P.E.I. summer retreat. The costs were disclosed in a response to an order paper question by Conservative MP Tracy Gray.

Dublin: ‘knifeman attacks group of young children’

Three children ‘fell to the ground’ one after the other as five people were wounded when a knifeman launched an attack in Dublin today, witnesses have said.

A woman and a man were also among the injured, police said. One of the children, a girl, and the woman suffered ‘serious’ injuries. All five have been taken to hospital.

Passersby overpowered the assailant outside a school and were able to disarm him, witnesses have said. A man has been taken to hospital following the incident, with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar saying a suspect had been detained.

Note that the Perp’s ID is not confirmed at this time. Reports are emerging that he may be a “migrant.”

Hackers are taking over planes’ GPS — experts are lost on how to fix it

It’s one of the most terrifying events imaginable.

There have been over 50 recent reports of frightening cyberattacks that have altered planes’ in-flight GPS, leading to what experts described as “critical navigation failures” onboard the aircraft.

More frightening still, industry leaders thought that this type of hacking was not possible and are at a loss over how to fix the now glaring security failure. Since late August, they have been observed throughout the Middle East, particularly over Israel, neighboring Egypt, and Iraq.
