Denmark is in “crisis mode” after Donald Trump made a direct play for Greenland in a “horrendous” phone call with the country’s prime minister.
The US president spoke to Mette Frederiksen, the Danish premier, for 45 minutes last week and made clear he wanted to place Greenland under American control.
The autonomous Arctic territory has been owned by Denmark since 1814, but Mr Trump thinks it would be a valuable asset in the US’s strategic competition against Russia and China.

The annual World Economic Forum (WEF) arrived in Davos, Switzerland this week with unusually little fanfare. The world’s eyes were instead fixed on Washington, DC and on Donald Trump’s second inauguration as US president. Even those at the WEF were focussed primarily on the United States. As Reuters observed, ‘Davos becomes the world’s most exclusive watch party’.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers hit the ground running this week, arresting multiple violent offenders in sanctuary cities, including a hostile Haitian gang member with a lengthy rap sheet who said he “ain’t going back to Haiti” and raged “F–k Trump, Biden forever!”
ICE officers in Boston made eight noteworthy arrests, including multiple MS-13 gang members, murder and rape suspects and the Haitian gang member, with 18 recent convictions, according to Fox News, who rode along with ICE for the arrests.

President Donald Trump attacked Bank of America for failing to lend to conservatives during a sudden attack during a livestream speech to execs and elites in Davos.
The sudden blast came in an angry speech where Trump vowed to slap tariffs on countries that don’t manufacture inside the U.S. and demanded OPEC lower oil prices.
During a question-and-answer period, the bank’s CEO Brian Moynihan asked a softball question about how his executive orders would impact his push for economic growth and market growth.

Donald Trump has pulled America out of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement for the second time. The new US president signed an executive order following his inauguration yesterday, reversing the decision of his predecessor, Joe Biden, to drag the US back into the agreement in 2021.
