Music producer Phil Spector has died from COVID-19 related complications at the age of 81.
Spector was diagnosed with COVID four weeks ago and was transferred from his prison cell at California Health Care Facility, where he was serving a 19 years-to-life sentence for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson, to a hospital.

Family of murdered Calgary police officer issues statement
The family of slain Calgary police officer Sgt. Andrew Harnett has issued a statement Monday about his love of Calgary, Canada and duty.
Harnett was killed New Year’s Eve in a hit-and-run after pulling over a car in Falconridge that had mismatched licence plates.
Police allege a 17-year-old male was the driver along with a 19-year-old passenger. Both have been charged with first-degree murder.

I can’t recall if I told my parents that was where I was going, though they probably knew. As it turned out, all of the locals and even many non-American tourists were all focused on a sporting event that I, a rather voracious sports fan barely even knew existed, the World Cup. On the early ’90s versions of big screen bar TVs, I saw him for the first time, tiny and squat in his sky blue striped jersey. A magician with the ball whose name I would soon learn was Diego Armando Maradona.
