Three students are dead and six others injured in a shooting at a Michigan high school on Tuesday, according to authorities.

A 15-year-old student is currently in custody following the shooting at a Oxford High School in Oxford around 12:50 p.m., the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Three people died — including a teacher — and half a dozen people were injured, the office said.

The alleged gunman, a sophomore at the school, was detained at the scene in Oxford, about 30 miles north of Detroit, officials said.

The families of those killed in a Florida school shooting have reached a multi-million dollar settlement with the US government after the FBI failed to act on a tip about the gunman.

A lawyer for the plaintiffs said the agreement, once finalised, would mark “an important step” towards justice.

At least 17 people died after a former student opened fire at the campus in Parkland on 14 February 2018.

It was one of the deadliest school shootings in US history.

Nikolas Cruz has pleaded guilty to 17 counts of first-degree murder for the 2018 shooting massacre at a Florida high school.

Cruz, 23, entered his plea after answering a long list of questions from circuit judge Elizabeth Scherer aimed at confirming his mental competency. He was charged with 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder for those wounded in the attack on 14 February, 2018, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, located just outside Fort Lauderdale.

Police are investigating an active shooter situation reported at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, the school district said.

An unknown suspect apparently shot multiple people before fleeing the scene, according to an internal police briefing. The number of victims was not immediately clear.

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (WREG) — Multiple people were injured Thursday in a shooting inside the Kroger on Byhalia and Poplar Avenue in Collierville, a Memphis suburb, after an active shooter incident officials are calling the “most horrific event” in the town’s history.

Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane confirmed 13 people were shot, and one person killed. The suspected shooter also is dead, possibly from a self-inflicted gunshot, Lane said.

Update: 8 dead including shooter who torched own home prior to killing spree

SAN JOSE — Multiple people are dead and others injured in a mass shooting early Wednesday morning at a Valley Transportation Authority light rail yard and the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.

The shooter is also dead, authorities said.

Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office spokesman Russell Davis confirmed the shooter’s death but was unable to confirm the exact number of dead and injured. He said more information would be released later Wednesday morning.

Police say a child was involved but is safely in custody.
