Pretty in Pinko: The Brat Pack And the Anti-Communist Film Festival

I’m officially inviting the Brat Pack to the Anti-Communist Film Festival. The Brat Pack were a group of actors who were young in the 1980s and the subject of a famous magazine profile by David Blum. Rob Lowe, Sean Penn, Emilio Estevez, and Andrew McCarthy, as well as female stars like Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore and Ali Sheedy, were the hot young actors in Hollywood in the Reagan Era.

Nolte: Uwe Boll Says ‘Citizen Vigilante’ Is a ‘Revolt‘ Against Studios Like Netflix Depicting All Migrants as Perfect

Citizen Vigilante director Uwe Boll defended his movie primarily as a response to the ongoing cover-up, both by politicians and the entertainment industry, about the very real horrors inflicted on society by migrant criminals.

“If you watch any German movie, all the migrants are perfectly integrated, intelligent, perfectly German-speaking people, and that’s just wrong,” he said. “That’s not the case.”

Another Nail in the Hollywood Coffin: George Washington Beats ‘Supergirl’

Another Nail in the Hollywood Coffin: George Washington Beats ‘Supergirl’

The most illustrative headline on the current state of the Culture War appeared last weekend in the web magazine Cosmic Book News: “Supergirl Box office Collapses 80 percent And Loses To A George Washington Movie.” Predicting the Supergirl implosion in my review of the movie required no Nostradamus mysticism. Nor did anticipating the enormous success of Young Washington. The Angel Studios release opened at $20 million, which just happens to match its production budget. By comparison, the $170 million DC Universe picture has grossed close to $65 million worldwide, and may fall well short of a hundred million.

‘Hellbrew of Hate’: The New Relevance of Cold War Anti-Communist Movies

These movies aren’t bad. In fact, many of them are great.

This was the thought I had in 2024, when I attended the American Film Institute’s series “Fabulous 50s.” The series highlighted American movies from the 1950s. There were classics screened: Ben-Hur. Carmen Jones, A Streetcar Named Desire. The Night of the Hunter, Singin’ in the Rain, and my favorite, Sweet Smell of Success.

Nolte: ‘Supergirl’ Is a Super Flop All Over the Globe

Nolte: ‘Supergirl’ Is a Super Flop All Over the Globe

Supergirl didn’t just flop at the box office this weekend; it is a flop of epic proportions, an abysmal failure that will be remembered only as a failure.

With a disastrous $38 million domestic opening and an even more humiliating overseas take of $30 million, Supergirl is a bigger domestic flop than The Marvels ($46 million), The Flash ($55 million), Black Adam ($67 million), and Morbius ($39 million).

Being Rachel Zegler is a bad career move Miss Alcock.

Suffergirl

Suffergirl

I didn’t intend to see Supergirl. I knew it would be infantile, dark, and woke — three of my biggest kryptonite rocks — and I had a book to finish, already late due to a medical trauma. But a critic buddy called me with an extra screening pass, and I wanted to see him. Now, the reason he had a ticket for me tells you all you need to know about the box-office prospects for Supergirl, and the mentality of Hollywoke, what’s left of it.

62% of White People Have Unplugged From Pop Culture

62% of White People Have Unplugged From Pop Culture

Stunning numbers from the CNN/SSRS poll I mentioned earlier.

“Which best describes your approach to following pop culture and entertainment, such as music, movies, TV shows, books or celebrities?”

Only 10% said that they “frequently seek out the latest in pop culture”

Another 30% said “I follow major developments in pop culture, but don’t seek them out”.

We don’t need some bigoted gatekeeper’s permission to be white, black or even green.

No one is afraid of being called “right wing”, “hateful” or “racist” anymore for simply standing up for the rights and best interests of their families and friends.

The entertainment industry shot itself in the head lecturing its audience with woke BS no one wants to consume.

Variety documents the self-inflicted economic collapse of Hollywood. The article discusses the hair-brained notion of a Federal tax to support the tone deaf entitled residents of LaLaLand.
