The fake ‘your hood’ PC outrage might finally tip the scale against cancel culture

Hate crime hoaxer

Like a sitcom in its death throes jumping the proverbial shark, the cancel-culture movement is plunging into a humiliating depth of inanity. This weekend, video emerged from a person called Frederick Joseph, a regular practitioner of “man on the street put-up jobs,” showing a confrontation with a white woman named Emma Sarley.

Sarley supposedly told Joseph, who is black, to “go back to [his] hood.” Or at least that’s what he says. She doesn’t say this on the video.

The familiar fracas ensued: Social-media mobs assembled, and quickly Sarley was fired from her job. But what happened next was a little different.

No Racism? No Problem! College Racial Hoaxes Are Back

Don’t you just hate it when there is so little racism that you have to fake it?

The latest bogus racism looks a lot like all the other fake racism: anti-black graffiti, swastikas, and perhaps a noose, followed by local outrage and lots of virtue signaling. The culprit is arrested and liberals try to hide the vandal’s identity because… awww shucks, you know why.

Black Student Accused of Starting Fire in Building Full of Her Sleeping Peers in Apparent Hate Crime Hoax

Say what you will about hate crime hoaxes, they aren’t usually dangerous.

A noose in the lavatory, some rebarbative slurs scrawled on the walls, a story about being jumped in the wee hours on a cold night in Chicago — they’re manipulative and unpleasant, they may be seized upon by cultural ambulance chasers, they may sow division, but they don’t threaten lives. Usually.

That can’t be said for what accused Viterbo University student Victoria C. Unanka is alleged to have done.

TV Reporter Buries Inconvenient Fact that ‘Hate Crime’ She Is Covering Is a Hoax

It’s almost embarrassing to watch the lengths to which WWMT television news reporter Trisha McCauley will go to preserve her job security in this era of cancel culture when raising the ire of social justice warriors can easily destroy your career. Therefore McCauley had to perform the unenviable task of pretending that there was still a hate crime that happened at Albion College in Michigan even though it was proven to have been a hoax since the perp turned out to be a “student of color.”
