The charge damning Israel with bombing a hospital in Gaza has circled the globe at lightning speed, time and again. But slowly the truth is getting its pants on.
There are some buildings where the penthouse floors look spectacular. But the foundations and the lower floors are rotten.
It feels like that at the moment when looking at the US-Israel relationship.
At the top floors all looks good, clean and marble-covered.
At least 18 people have been arrested after a wave of hoax bomb threats prompted evacuations across France.
The Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, as well as schools, airports and hospitals have all been targeted.
Those behind the disruption are mostly minors, authorities say.
The threats come at a time of heightened tension in France, after a teacher was fatally stabbed by an alleged jihadist last week at a school in the northern city of Arras.

In light of the devastating and deadly terrorist attack executed by Hamas against Israel on October 7, many are correctly calling the failure to intercept and prevent the assault an “intelligence failure.” Many are especially surprised given the vaunted, basically legendary, status almost universally accorded Israel’s national security apparatus.

But some of the techno-miracles on display seem a bit boosterish in light of events.

Facing calls to clarify his previous comments, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday the Canadian government is working “rapidly” with allies to determine exactly what happened in the Gaza hospital blast that’s become a point of contention amid the Israel-Hamas war.
Calling it “the destruction of the hospital,” Trudeau said Canada is taking the time needed to investigate “carefully” beyond the “preliminary evidence” before reaching any final conclusions.
Many people were surprised at the slaughter, torture and rape inflicted by Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Israel. Arguably they shouldn’t have been, but at least they’re now waking up. But as Israel braces for the gruesome task of rooting jihadis out of Gaza, we also need to wake up to the poisonous radicalism within academia, from cancel culture, critical race theory and “decolonization” to a shocking amount of support for murderous antisemitic atrocities. And happily it’s easy to root out: just privatize the universities.

They are still finding bodies in the neighbourhoods near Gaza.
Recovery teams on Wednesday pulled a woman’s body from the rubble in Kibbutz Be’eri. She was naked, her feet bound with metal wire.
One of the team said the bodies of more than 20 children had been found nearby, tied together and burned.
Even experienced workers are struggling: deaths like this are enough to break the living.
The heinous Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel left many Canadians, particularly in the Jewish community, deeply shocked and concerned about the questionable tone coming from our government.
This week, a number of world leaders have visited Israel to show their solidarity with the Jewish state. However, Canada’s response has been marked by efforts to evacuate its citizens from the region and a pledge of $10 million in aid to both sides, reflecting a faulty and shameful desire for neutrality.

Israel-Hamas war cannot become another 9/11 moment, says anti-Islamophobia envoy
OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s special representative for combating Islamophobia is warning against allowing the Israel-Hamas war to become a catalyst for the stereotyping of Muslim Canadians.
Amira Elghawaby, who was appointed to the new role in January, released a statement this week about the effect the war is having on members of Canada’s Muslim communities.
She said people are expressing fear about a “resurgence” in Islamophobia that “has troubling echoes of the past.”

The terrified 12-year-old – who had autism – was sheltering from rocket fire with her grandmother Carmela when gunmen set the house on fire to force them out.
The pair were abducted – two out of more than 100 residents of the kibbutz – and feared taken hostage back to Gaza to be taunted and terrorised by the Islamic fanatics.
Trudeau not ready to accept U.S. finding that Palestinian outfit was behind Gaza hospital blast
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday that Canadian officials are still reviewing evidence about the Gaza hospital blast that killed and maimed many Palestinian civilians and he’s not prepared to say who’s responsible.
That’s a departure from what U.S. President Joe Biden and American national security services have said about the explosion.
“We are working closely with allies to determine exactly what happened,” Trudeau told a press conference with Caribbean leaders in Ottawa when asked if he accepted the Israeli version of events that has since been endorsed by the U.S. government.
He hasn’t got anything to lose, his image and that of his party are in the dumpster.
