OTTAWA — A spokesman for Pierre Poilievre said Monday the federal Conservative leader does not agree with the message of “straight pride,” after he was photographed with a man wearing a T-shirt bearing those words.

Skamski said that “Poilievre does not agree with the message displayed on the T-shirt,” adding that Conservatives are working to build a country where everyone is free to be themselves, “regardless of their sexual orientation.”

But not really for straight people.

He better not be photo’d with a tranny and he better replace Skumski.

London Trans Pride has defended a convicted kidnapper who called for protesters to “punch” gender critical people “in the f—— face.”

Sarah Jane Baker, a trans activist who campaigns on behalf of trans prisoners, addressed attendees at the march on Saturday.

She was released from prison three years ago after serving 30 years for the kidnapping and attempted murder of her stepmother’s brother, and for attempting to kill another prisoner while incarcerated.

When the Ontario government amended the human rights code in 1986 to include sexual orientation as a prohibited ground of discrimination, there was no talk of drag queen story times, putting biological males into women’s prisons or having naked people parading in front of children with legal impunity.

As a preteen and teen, when you asked for something ill-advised because everyone else was doing it, you likely heard a parent admonish, “What if all of your friends were jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge? Would you do it too?”

It’s wise and timeless counsel about protecting yourself from peer pressure and staying out of trouble.

But it seems a number of activists today never heeded that warning.
