Construction of former President Barack Obama’s long-awaited library and museum in Chicago began with ambitious plans for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) but is now plagued by huge cost overruns, delays and a $40.75-million, racially charged lawsuit filed by a minority contractor.

From the outset, the endeavor touted DEI as a key part of enshrining Obama’s legacy at the 19.3-acre site, where costs have ballooned from an initial $350 million to $830 million in 2021 based on its previous annual reports, with no publicly available figures available for updated projected costs. The project set out “ambitious goals” for certain construction diversity quotas, with its contracts to be allocated to “diverse suppliers,” 35% of which were required to be minority-based enterprises (MBEs).

A police force reissued a mugshot of a convicted Islamic State (IS) terrorist after she complained she was not wearing a niqab in it.

Farishta Jami, 36, was found guilty of terrorism offences on Thursday for planning to fly to Afghanistan to join IS.

West Midlands Police initially released an image showing her full face and hair – but then published a second that showed only her eyes beneath a navy blue niqab.

Brazen Canadian ‘coyotes’ smuggling migrants across the northern border — even advertising on TikTok

Smugglers are brazenly using TikTok to advertise their human-trafficking services across the Canada-US border — undercutting the Great White North’s position as it tries to hammer out a critical deal with the US on tariffs and security, The Post has learned.

For close to a year, the Canadian “coyotes” — who largely target Indian nationals — promise a hassle-free trip to the States for as much as $5,000, with new border-crossing accounts popping up every time others are removed from the platform.

The posts often feature a US flag waving over a wooded northern border, set to Indian music, urging wannabe border crossers to DM them for more details.

OTTAWA — Canada’s leading LGBTQ2S+ advocacy organization is boycotting travel to the U.S. — and won’t attend an upcoming United Nations event — in response to concerns about how their members might be treated at the border under the Trump administration.

“I don’t think there’s anything more important than safeguarding my staff and our community members, and also sending a strong message to the U.S.,” said Egale Canada head Helen Kennedy.

“It was a culmination and an accumulation of legislative changes, rhetoric and discriminatory policies specifically targeting gender-diverse folks that made us make this decision.”

Trans migrant charged with raping 14-year-old boy in NYC bathroom

A migrant transgender woman wanted by federal immigration officials allegedly stalked and raped a boy in Manhattan this week, The Post has learned.

Nicol Suarez allegedly followed the 14-year-old into the bathroom of a bodega across the street from Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem Tuesday and attacked him, police and sources said.

The boy then left the bathroom and flagged down witnesses, who alerted police, the sources said.
