New polling results suggest Canadians are largely indifferent to King Charles, and more than half believe his May 6 coronation is the right time for the country to reconsider its ties with the monarchy.

The web survey of 1,544 adults released Tuesday by market research firm Leger indicates many Canadians are greeting the ascension of Charles to the throne with a shrug.

I don’t think Charles gives a damn.

According to reports, details filed with the US Trademark and Patent Office show that the website shut down by the 41-year-old in 2017 could make a comeback as early as next week – and go head-to-head with Paltrow’s £200 million lifestyle brand, Goop.

Meghan Markle has once again been mocked by a top US comedy show as Saturday Night Live has become the latest to take a swipe at the Duchess of Sussex. Comedian Michael Che joked that Meghan was being offered “$19 an hour” to attend the Coronation as a graphic of the Duchess dressed as a maid appeared behind him. The segment has so far been lapped up by viewers.

I know, it’s hard to believe SNL could be funny.

It is a relationship that dates back to 1904 when King Edward VII bestowed a royal title on Canada’s North West Mounted Police, the predecessors of today’s famous Mounties.

Chris Rock’s comedy special on Netflix was no laughing matter for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, royal experts claimed.

On Saturday’s “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” the comedian unloaded several jokes aimed at Meghan Markle and her royal in-laws. At one point, the 58-year-old said the former “Suits” star was doing a lot of “complaining.”

During his new Netflix stand-up special, Selective Outrage, Chris Rock has said what we’ve all long been thinking. That Meghan Markle’s claims to be a victim of royal racism are a pile of the proverbial.

‘Like, who is this girl Meghan Markle?’, asks Rock, during a section on people who are desperate to play the victim. ‘Seems like a nice lady – just complaining… Like, didn’t she hit the light-skinned lottery?’

Prince Harry’s latest interview to promote his bombshell memoir Spare could prove to be the most damaging yet for his father, King Charles – as it will see the Duke sitting down with a ‘childhood trauma expert’ who believes that everything wrong in people’s lives is rooted in their negative experiences as a child.

The royal, 38, is set to speak with Hungarian-Canadian doctor Gabor Maté on Saturday to promote his new memoir, Spare, and discuss ‘living with loss and the importance of personal healing.’

Having already taken several swipes at his family in the pages of his book, this new interview will provide Harry with an opportunity to delve even deeper into his childhood – and potentially lay bare any ‘traumatic’ experiences that he believes have led to his struggles as an adult.

The last coronation in England was 70 years ago when Queen Elizabeth sat on Edward I’s chair (dating from 1296) as the Archbishop of Canterbury placed King Edward’s crown (dating from 1661) on her head. It’s an ancient ceremony and, in the modern era, an infrequent one. You’d think there’d be a queue of rock stars lining up to be part of this historical moment, but they’re not. Even a king all-in on climate change can’t override a soap opera monarchy associated with colonialism, so top rockers are saying “no” to being a part of the event.

Monarchists in Canada say they’re troubled by the fact that the federal government hasn’t said yet how the country will celebrate King Charles’s coronation — a historic event for the head of state that is just two months away.

Royal-watchers say that as a senior member of the Commonwealth of Nations with close historic ties to the Crown, Canada should meaningfully mark Charles’s investiture as King and the crowning of Camilla as Queen Consort.

I am not sure the Monarchy will survive William and Kate.

As for Canada, I think a respect for  tradition exists but a growing indifference may spell the end of our ties.

I was interested to read that the next Joker film has the subtitle ‘Folie à Deux’ – a lovely phrase not used enough these days. When shrinks talk about folie à deux (also known as Lasègue-Falret Syndrome, after the 19th-century French psychiatrists who discovered it) they mean a ‘shared delusional disorder’ in which symptoms of an irrational belief are transmitted from one individual to another – including folie en famille or folie à plusieurs (‘madness of several’), sometimes leading to violence and even murder. But in popular culture, we generally mean a pair of lovers who act in such a way that anyone outside their set-up sees them as insane (‘folly of two’ or ‘madness shared by two’) and who provide a great deal of entertainment – and reassurance – for those who have chosen a tamer path.

Meghan Markle was ‘surprised and disappointed’ that Prince Harry ‘had very little money’, a royal expert has claimed.

Harry’s popularity in the U.S. has sunk 48 points since December and Meghan’s 40 points giving them net approval ratings of -10 for the duke and -17 for the duchess, according to polling by Redfield & Wilton for Newsweek.

Less liked than Andy? That’s impressive but well earned.

Insiders claim Meghan Markle has been left ‘upset and overwhelmed’ for the past few days at how she and Prince Harry are depicted in an episode of South Park.

The episode, titled ‘World Privacy Tour’ pokes fun at the couple’s grievances, while Meghan is introduced cuttingly as a ‘sorority girl, actress, influencer, victim,’ by another character.

The satirical series ridiculed the couple’s demands for privacy while on a publicity blitz for the prince’s autobiography ‘Waaaah’ – a dig at Harry’s recent memoir Spare – in last week’s brutal episode.
