The Fed goes ‘proactively hostile’ against Trump

The swamp is deep and it clearly includes the supposedly independent Federal Reserve which sets interest rates. The bank was lowering interest rates in 2024, but now they are talking about slowing down cuts because of a theoretical increase in inflation that they think will be caused by Trump’s tariffs …

The Federal Reserve is a mystery to me, this sheds a bit of light on it …

How Can the Federal Reserve Pay Dividends to Its Shareholders When It Has No Profits?

Although the Federal Reserve is — and thinks of itself as — part of the government, 100 percent of the $37 billion in paid-in stock of its twelve component Federal Reserve Banks is owned by private shareholders. This was part of the political compromise of the original 1913 Federal Reserve Act.

The shareholders are the commercial banks that are the members of the respective Federal Reserve Banks. Remarkably, these private shareholders are getting dividends from the Reserve Banks even when the combined Fed has no profits, no saved up past profits (retained earnings), and hugely negative actual capital.  Any private bank which tried to pay dividends under these circumstances would be sternly prohibited by the Fed from doing so.

Trump Is Sentenced in Hush-Money Case: No Prison Time or Even Probation, But He’s Now a Convicted Felon

President Trump was released on an “unconditional discharge” on Friday morning at a sentencing hearing for his conviction in the long running hush-money case, and became the first ever president in the U.S. history to be sentenced in a criminal case and become a convicted felon. Trump did not attend the hearing in person. He appeared virtually from Florida. He can now appeal the conviction and has sworn to do so.

Judge Aileen Cannon Blocks Release of Jack Smith’s Special Counsel Report

Jack Smith Weasel Faced Loser

Trump-appointed District Judge Aileen Cannon blocked the release of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on his investigations into Donald Trump and two of his employees.

The two investigations included mishandling classified documents and interference in the 2020 election. The hold in releasing the report is to allow the 11th Circuit Court to review the emergency motion by Trump’s codefendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, who were charged in the mishandling of classified documents case with obstruction-related crimes.

Conspiracies Too Awful to Imagine?

Over the decade of Donald Trump’s political career, the left—as exemplified by Democratic politicos, the media, academics, the Washington military hierarchy, and the permeant bureaucratic state—illustrated a level of furor, venom, and near madness unprecedented in modern American history.

Yet stranger still about such visceral, indeed lunatic hatred, despite Trump’s eccentricities and lack of a traditional political resume, his administration between 2017-21 was successful by traditional economic, military, security, and diplomatic standards. It was certainly not characterized by weaponizing the DOJ, Pentagon, CIA, or FBI, get-even vendettas, the use of lawfare, corruption, optional wars, open borders, hyperinflation, or a war on the environment—as predicted and alleged. Nevertheless, the idea of Trump as president justified to the left the greatest assault on our civil liberties, justice system, and free expression in modern history.

‘Sickening, Slime, Abomination!’ MSNBC Meltdown Over Trump Mar-a-Lago Meeting

Sunday’s edition of MSNBC’s The Weekend was in meltdown mode over a Trump get-together at Mar-a-Lago for a screening of a documentary about John Eastman’s legal tribulations.

Rudy Giuliani and Peter Navarro were in attendance, and Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni was also at the screening. The Weekend panelists portrayed the get-together as a celebration of the events of January 6th.

WARNING: Trump’s Life Could Be in Danger

It feels like everything’s building to a crescendo, doesn’t it? The past is prologue, and it’s all leading to…

…something.

The trouble is, when you’re knee-deep in a historical arc, it’s next to impossible to accurately define it. You might be aware that something big and consequential is going on, but you can’t contextualize what the hell it means until afterward. It’s like trying to take a picture while driving 200 miles an hour — everything is blurry and distorted.

Two words – “Heather Mallick”

Donald Trump has a new best friend; Justin Trudeau doesn’t have any friends left

The year of 2025 is looking very much like the year of 2024, chaotic, grim, worrisome, airplane-crashy, genocidal, and frankly a bit short of the generous human behaviour I had been expecting for its first week.

I’m glad that former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, a good man among less good men, reached 100 but even he didn’t want to add a few more years, not if they were Trump years. Go out at your peak of esteem, a round number.

TDS is a form of mass hysteria.

Judge upholds Trump’s felony conviction, schedules sentencing for Jan. 10

NEW YORK — President-elect Donald Trump will be sentenced on 34 counts of falsifying business records ahead of his swearing-in on Jan. 20, a judge ruled Friday.

The decision to schedule the sentencing Jan. 10 almost certainly means Trump will be the first felon to serve as a U.S. president.

New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan wrote in his ruling that he does not intend to sentence Trump to jail. He said he plans to order an “unconditional discharge,” a designation in New York criminal courts for a non-jail and non-probation sentence that carries no other obligations.

Comedian Roundup: Kathy Griffin Says Catch Me ‘Before I’m In One of Those Internment Camps’

Fox News Digital offered a set of stories on what left-tilting comedians have been saying this week. Lindsay Kornick reported Kathy Griffin is at it again, promoting her comedy tour “My Life on the PTSD-List” on Chicago’s WGN radio on Tuesday. Griffin described being able to travel again after her decapitated-Trump stunt from 2017 put her on the “no-fly list.”

Authorities Treating Cybertruck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas as Possible Act of Terror

Authorities are treating Wednesday morning’s Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside Trump International Hotel Las Vegas as a possible act of terrorism.

Before it exploded, the all-electric Cybertruck was parked in the valet area outside the Las Vegas hotel. The vehicle had apparently been loaded with fireworks, as security footage circulating on social media seems to indicate. The fire was extinguished and the public was told to avoid the area.

Will Dems Disrupt Certification of Trump’s Triumph?

Some dead-enders continue to insist that he is an insurrectionist and therefore ineligible to take office.

When the Electoral College met on Dec. 17 and confirmed Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris, most commentators concluded that congressional certification of the results would be a mere formality. As Politico put it, “Trump’s victory has made Jan. 6 boring again.” It should be remembered, however, that the Democrats have tried to block certification of every Republican presidential victory this century — including the 2004 reelection of George W. Bush, who won the popular vote as well as an Electoral College majority. Consequently, it’s hardly a surprise that we are still hearing claims from some TDS victims that Trump can be barred from holding office pursuant to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

There’s Something Awfully Funny About This Teacher’s Anti-Trump Letter

Bill Maher isn’t a conservative, but there is one thing he can’t stand: the proverbial cutting off friends and family members over political disagreements, which he inadvertently revealed in his latest podcast episode with Jay Leno isn’t a new phenomenon. Maher has debated, met, and, at times, befriended those Hollywood views as anathema; he’s friends with Ann Coulter.

CNN journalists offer brutal assessment of why their network is failing – “We’re not Trump Deranged enough”

CNN’s stubbornly leftist journalists think they know why their viewers are abandoning ship in record numbers – they’re not going hard enough against Donald Trump anymore.

That is the suggestion from reporters who spoke anonymously to The Washington Post this week as the network recovered from some of its lowest ratings ever.

Insiders claim a decision to hold a town hall with the president-elect back in May 2023 upset staff and viewers, as did the decision not to fact check Trump during his debate earlier this year.
