Not that long ago, such a price point and sales strategy would have guaranteed a frenzy of activity.

Immigration rates still at generational highs, even if population shrinking

For the third consecutive quarter, the population of Canada has shrunk, capping off an unprecedented nine-month period that has seen the Canadian population go down by a combined 180,000 people.

But the phenomenon is due almost entirely to Ottawa reining in the meteoric surge of temporary migration experienced by Canada between 2022 and 2024. On multiple other immigration streams intake continues to remain at generational if not all-time highs.

Hundreds of people attended a newcomer fair in Calgary this week looking for jobs, housing information and settlement services. But behind the optimism and opportunities on display was another conversation about Alberta’s referendum questions on immigration, and what it could mean for those hoping to build a life in Canada.

“That will have a negative impact on the harmony of society,” said Sally Zhao, chief executive officer of The Immigrant Education Society in Calgary. “They’re not going to have a sense of belonging. If you don’t have a sense of belonging, how can you be motivated to give back to society?”

Immigration Minister Says Having Canadian Ancestor Doesn’t Make One ‘Automatically Eligible’ for Citizenship

Immigration Minister Lena Diab says people seeking Canadian citizenship by descent must prove their connection to Canada through each generation and that genealogy websites alone are not sufficient evidence.

Diab made the comments June 16 during Question Period in the House of Commons, when asked how many individuals had been given Canadian citizenship using inaccurate documents under a law passed last year that lets some people born before Dec. 15, 2025, obtain Canadian citizenship by descent if they can document a chain of descent to a Canadian citizen.

Homeownership increased for recent immigrants in Canada and decreased for Canadian-born individuals: StatsCan

Homeownership rates for recent immigrants in Canada grew recently, but it also decreased for Canadian-born individuals, according to a Statistics Canada study released Tuesday.

Homeownership in Ontario among recent immigrants in their fifth year in Canada rose by from 35.7 per cent in 2018 to 40.2 per cent in 2021, recording an increase of over 12 per cent. While Canadian-born individuals saw a five per cent decrease in homeownership rates for the same period from 50.7 per cent to 47.8 per cent.

I guess the Elbow people who voted for economic security wrecking mass immigration all have homes set aside for their children and grandchildren.

Toronto child poverty rates rise for third straight year: ‘How can it be acceptable?’

Sharma Queiser has researched the social issues that Torontonians face for more than a decade, authoring reports that aim to raise awareness and improve lives.

Every few years, she’s been part of the team that puts together a report card on child and family poverty for Social Planning Toronto.

But co-authoring the report this time was different for her. It’s the first time the report has come out since she became a parent. The team found that for the third consecutive year, child poverty rates have risen in Toronto, disproportionately affecting families who are immigrants, racialized or have a single parent in their households.

This article suggests Canada do a better job crafting a beneficial to citizens immigration policy rather than using it to feed a vote buying machine.

Youth unemployment in Canada jumped 57% in 3 years, hitting levels previously unseen outside a recession

In 2025, 437,000 young Canadians were looking for work and couldn’t find it, a 57 percent increase in joblessness for the demographic of 15 to 24 years old over just three years. The average young person spent an average of about 16 weeks searching for a new job in 2025, up nearly a month and a half from 2022.

Canada’s youth unemployment rate hit 19.5 percent for 15- to 19-year-olds, a level that has historically only appeared during severe recessions—yet the broader economy was not in recession, but growing at an anemic 1.7 percent of real GDP.

In 2019, Jamaican national Dwayne Marlon Douglas committed a number of vile acts. He held a gun to the head of a sex worker as three of his male companions took turns having sex with her; then, he had his way too.

Days after that, he pistol-whipped a man with an imitation handgun, stole his phone and other valuables, and threatened to kill him if he reported the robbery to police. He also robbed a female erotic masseuse in a stairwell around the same time, stealing $4,300 worth of items; after she reported the crime, he told her she was in “trouble.” He also distributed nude photographs of his girlfriend for money without her consent.

Federal poll finds nearly half of Canadians think country takes ‘too many immigrants’

OTTAWA — A survey commissioned by the federal government late last year suggests nearly half of Canadians believe the country is admitting too many immigrants — but the share of respondents who think so has dropped since last year’s polling.

The survey found 47 per cent of respondents believe “too many” immigrants are coming to Canada, while 38 per cent say “about the right amount” are coming.

A similar government poll conducted in late 2024 reported 54 per cent of respondents saying that “too many” immigrants were coming to Canada.

I bet the poll respondents in favour of immigration are foreigners.

Idle youth UK: Are ‘Neets’ jobs being taken by migrants?

THE Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) published some startling figures on Thursday. The latest HMRC payroll data, their analysis reveals, shows that the number of young foreigners entering the workforce massively outstrips UK nationals.

Specifically the number of non-EU migrants on the payrolls rose from 82,000 in January 2020 to 370,000 in December 2025 – an increase of 290,000 and up 355 per cent over five years compared to just 11,000 extra young UK nationals.

Why it’s Christian to oppose mass immigration

I AM grateful to our Editor at TCW for highlighting the ongoing crisis of immigration into the UK, which remains at alarmingly high levels. We continue to be faced with the complete and irreversible transformation of our national character and identity.

As a Christian pastor, it has much disturbed me over the years how the churches have failed to provide vital Biblical insight into this matter. They have generally emulated the doctrines of atheistic cultural Marxism in arguing that large-scale influxes into Britain can only be positive and enhancing. How vital is the need, therefore, for some Bible-based input.

Ottawa opened the immigration floodgates and Canadians are paying the price
