Carson Jerema: We’re about to learn how wrong it was to use the Emergencies Act

That using the Emergencies Act to clear out the freedom convoy protest this past winter was an overreaction should be the inescapable conclusion of all but the most ardent of Trudeau apologists. The judicial inquiry set up by the government as required by the act and which begins next month will hopefully provide clearer answers as to why a state of emergency was declared. But, unless previously unheard of evidence that Canada’s democracy really was an inch from collapsing emerges, a terrible precedent will have been set. Don’t agree? Just imagine a future government using the act to clear away, say, climate protesters.

A grant of 133,000 taxpayer dollars is given to the Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC) to build an anti-racism strategy for the broadcasting sector. The CMAC’s senior consultant, Laith Marouf, has made multiple antisemitic posts. He is also not kind to Americans or French Canadians. He is a practiced gymnast of vile attitudes.

Years of racist indoctrination and diversity hiring within our government & predatory public service unions are behind the Marouf hiring.

I’m willing to bet that those responsible are shocked anyone could possibly fault them.

Welcome to “Peak Trudeau” – a sick culture that rewards racists.

And don’t for a minute think it will get better because Marouf made headlines.

Trudeau called out for missing ‘crystal clear’ business case for LNG exports

The CEO of a Quebec-based oil and gas company is calling out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claim that there has “never been a strong business case” for liquefied natural gas exports from Canada’s East Coast to Europe.

Mario Lévesque, chief executive of Utica Resources, says the rationale for exporting natural gas from Quebec is “crystal clear,” and would generate “tens of billions in royalties and taxes” for Ottawa.

Trudeau’s Fake Graves Pogrom Continues: Yet Another Catholic Church Suspiciously Burns Down

Very little is left of a northern Alberta Catholic church that went up in flames early Thursday morning.

RCMP said a blaze at an inactive Catholic church in Fort Chipewyan was reported at 2:34 a.m.

A community member identified the building as the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Roman Catholic Church, built in 1909.

Over 50 churches so far. Trudeau sanctioned this pogrom.

‘Misinformed rhetoric:’ Guilbeault fires back over water accusations

Federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault shot back at the provincial government on Wednesday over what he says is misinformation regarding an incident that saw federal employees take water samples from a dugout on private land.

Guilbeault said in a letter he wanted to address speculations over the work of Environment Canada employees, who have routinely conducted water monitoring across provinces for more than 50 years.

Why Justin Trudeau’s Canada Is So Soft on China

Despite repeated calls from the Biden administration, the Canadian government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has yet to formulate a public foreign policy strategy to deal with China. Canada has the world’s ninth-largest economy, a population of nearly forty million, a major Pacific Ocean coastline, and fully benefits from the U.S. missile defense architecture, to which it makes no contribution. Yet it is a disappointingly meek U.S. ally. Ottawa has been pursuing a virtually neutralist strategy of avoiding committing to any U.S. effort to harness the coalition of democracies to confront the Chinese threat to Taiwan. Washington needs to be aware that any Canadian foreign policy on China will be heavily influenced by domestic electoral politics.

Six Months After the Freedom Convoy, Trudeau’s Lies and Cowardice Are Clearer Than Ever

It’s been six months since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cracked down on one of the largest labor protests in recent history. In February, thousands of Canadian truck drivers joined what became known as the Freedom Convoy, driving to Ottawa and parking their rigs in the capitol city in protest of Trudeau’s vaccine mandates. I was one of them. But rather than meet with truckers, Trudeau demonized us as extremists, and then invoked the never before used Emergencies Act, meant to be used during times of war or terrorism, granting the government extraordinary powers they do not normally have. Hen used the Emergencies Act to freeze the bank accounts of protest organizers and those who donated to the truckers and had Convoy organizer Tamara Lich arrested.

Canada’s convoy movement waved the Dutch flag. Then conspiracy theories swirled about fertilizer and bugs

Over the summer, supporters of the Freedom Convoy movement have continued to hold anti-mandate demonstrations across the country, attracting anywhere from a few dozen to several hundred people in places like Sudbury, Ont., Acheson, Alta., and Regina.

Like the protests in Ottawa last winter, these smaller demonstrations featured big rigs, pickup trucks and honking — though they tended to last only a few hours and kept to parking lots or slow-moving convoys on highways.

But they also featured a new — and perhaps surprising — symbol: The flag of the Netherlands was being waved alongside the more familiar Maple Leaf and F–k Trudeau banners.

I am grateful to see that F*ck Trudeau banners are recognized as part of the political landscape.

The CBC is in full “Scare Mode”. All “right wing media” in Canada are spreaders of crazy conspiracy theories harmful to the national fabric crafted by Justin the Savior.

Eating less meat could help Canada achieve its climate goals

Canadians could help the country meet its climate targets by cutting their meat and dairy consumption in half by 2050, a new report suggests.

Canada’s goal is to reduce planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions to at least 40 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. While the Liberal government has outlined how it plans to achieve this in its 2030 emissions reduction plan, an assessment from the Canadian Climate Institute found the plan still puts Canada short of its goal by nine megatonnes.

Sounds innocuous enough. Too bad it isn’t. In what appears to be a paean to George Orwell’s “1984,” the federal Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is building a new facility in Winnipeg that will “be home to a firearms armoury, interrogation rooms, biological labs, media relations offices, “controlled quiet rooms,” and intelligence facilities.”

‘Money Mules’: Foreign Students Tied to Money Laundering in Canada, Says FINTRAC Report

Some international students are implicated in money laundering activities for organized criminal networks operating in Canada, according to the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), which named students from China and Hong Kong.

A FINTRAC report released in May says underground banking—informal value transfer systems (IVTS) that help parties in different jurisdictions transmit money—is carried out in three main hubs in Canada: the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), metro Vancouver, and the Calgary-Edmonton corridor.

Canada just missed possibly one of the greatest opportunities in its history

It could well represent one of the biggest missed opportunities in Canadian history: An embattled Europe is clamouring for natural gas, and one of the world’s biggest producers of the stuff can’t sell it to them.

The economic hit is overwhelming: At current prices, even just one Canadian port exporting liquid natural gas could be adding nine figures to the Canadian GDP each day. Politically, Canada could be helping to deal a body blow to Russian hegemony over Western European energy. Instead, on both fronts, Ottawa appears content to watch from the sidelines.
