A former Canadian sniper has triggered a cross-border battle over press freedom, after providing classified information to an American podcaster.
Dallas Alexander, a former member of the elite JTF2 unit who is now an aspiring country music singer, released never-before-seen video of a record-setting ‘kill shot’ during an appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show. The Feb. 3 podcast showed a team of four Canadian snipers taking out an ISIS fighter during a 2017 operation in Mosul, Iraq.
A former U.S. Navy SEAL turned podcaster has received a cease and desist letter from Canadian special operations forces over an interview he released with a former sniper from Canada’s top counterterrorism unit, citing the unauthorized sharing of classified information.
“I’m sure many of you are aware that I pulled the JTF2 [Joint Task Force-2] Sniper / Dallas Alexander SRS [Shawn Ryan Show] Episode due to a cease and desist from the Canadian Gov,” Shawn Ryan wrote on Twitter on Feb. 14.

The Canadian military has appointed LGBTQ advisors to serve in its chaplain service to promote “diversity and inclusion” within the armed forces, says a federal briefing note on Dec. 6.
“We have established senior advisor positions including an indigenous and LGBTQ advisor to Chaplain General to raise awareness, education and innovate,” said the note “Military Chaplains,” obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter.
The advisors were to “further provide diversity and inclusion within the Chaplain Service,” said the note, according to the media outlet.
The CAF’s desire to become hyper-woke puts them at cross-purposes. Won’t the transgender chaplains meet with resistance from the ISIS recruits?
OTTAWA – There are concerns at the highest levels of the Canadian Armed Forces that this country won’t have access to the same cutting-edge military technology as its closest allies because it is not part of a security pact between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The trilateral treaty, nicknamed “AUKUS” after the three countries involved, was announced in September 2021 in what many have seen as a bid to counter China’s growing military presence in the Indo-Pacific region, where Canada has growing economic and security interests.

It’s difficult to visualize Prime Minister Justin Trudeau leaping from his bed in an epiphany about spending on Canada’s military, shouting: “Lord God Almighty, I’ve seen the light!”
Given that, there is something strange going on with military procurement in our country.
To further its cultural transformation, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) seeks to screen individuals before or after recruitment for “problematic attitudes” by using new tools, including a database of symbols built with outside expertise.
“A symbology dataset was created and will be continually updated, in consultation with, or outsourced to, external experts, to increase CAF recruiters’ awareness of extremist, racist, discriminatory, or hateful conduct, or other unacceptable attitudes that are displayed through applicant tattoos and body adornments,” the organization wrote in its December response to Louise Arbour’s report.
