Polls suggest a large majority of Canadians support the measures. The majority is wrong. The politicians are wrong.
Conservative politicians are using confusion over trans issues as a dog whistle for LGBTQ+ intolerance. They should stop.
Well-meaning people can be forgiven for believing that parents, not the state, are best equipped to handle gender dysphoria among youth.

Saskatchewan is joining New Brunswick in an unseemly political manoeuvre, using the sensitive issue of gender identity to gain the support of certain voters at the expense of the fundamental right to equality.
If it were an oblique attack against people for who they are in terms of their religion or ethnicity, calling out that prejudice would be a slam dunk. Most segments of our society would denounce it. No serious politician would ever get close to it.

Testimony, or Evidence?
One might think the fact that the medical establishment is endorsing and performing experimental, irreversible, and often sterilizing medical procedures on children would be an immense journalistic discovery. But a recent New York Times article—investigating allegations made by Jamie Reed, a former case manager at the Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital who blew the whistle on medical malpractice at the clinic traveling under the guise of “gender-affirming care”—downplays the results of that discovery in a way that privileges personal testimony over evidence.
A lawsuit filed by sorority members at the University of Wyoming to block a transgender woman from joining has been dismissed by a judge — despite allegations the student was a “sexual predator” who got physically aroused around them.
Since the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority bylaws do not define what a “woman” is, Wyoming US District Judge Alan Johnson ruled he could not proceed with the lawsuit and dismissed the matter on Friday, according to reports.
“With its inquiry beginning and ending there, the court will not define a ‘woman’ today,” Johnson wrote.
The principal of a Hamilton Mountain high school is warning families of potential protests and media attention this fall with the hiring of a new teacher.
Last week, Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School principal Tom Fisher sent a letter to parents and guardians warning them that the Upper Sherman Avenue school may receive “some level of public attention” as a result of a teacher joining their staff.

Swimmer and activist Riley Gaines responded to a news article she claimed was an attempt at “character assassination” with a threat to sue.

A drag queen trapped by paedophile hunters who fooled him into believing he was talking to a teenage boy has been jailed for 34 months.
Andrew Way, an LGBT Pride organiser known by the stage name Miss Gin, believed he was talking to a 14-year-old boy in explicit messages online.
Way pretended he was 27 when he began contacting the “boy”, not realising that a paedophile hunting group was behind the profile.
About 150 demonstrators who oppose LGBTQ+ education marched on Monday from City Hall to the Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters, where two counterprotesters were taken into custody as dozens of officers kept the opposing groups apart after heated exchanges.
The demonstrators came from across Southern California including San Diego, Antelope Valley, Glendale and Los Angeles. A few identified themselves as parents at Saticoy Elementary School, where fighting broke out between opposing sides during a demonstration over a Gay Pride activity in June.

A Catholic school district in Massachusetts has ruled that its 5,000 students must use the names and pronouns they used at birth, in the latest clash between the church and radical gender ideology.
The ruling from the Diocese of Worcester and approved by Bishop Robert McManus is set to affect 21 schools in and around the central Massachusetts city and start when students got back to class for the fall semester.
Under the new guidelines, students must conduct themselves in a manner ‘consistent with their biological sex,’ including the bathrooms they use and the sports teams on which they compete.
