Germany’s reaction to Charlie Kirk’s killing was beyond disturbing

The cold-blooded killing of campaigner Charlie Kirk on a university campus in Utah should have been a moment of shared grief for everyone. A young father who believed in and lived by a code of free speech and debate was gunned down in front of horrified students.

As we know, the reaction of certain sections of the Left in Britain and America was appalling. If they offered sympathy it was heavily caveated and, by applying labels like “far-Right”, they appeared to suggest he had brought it on himself.

Yet here in Germany, the response of the media class was even more disturbing. They seemed to revel in it.

Get a life: U.S. outdoor group’s application to use B.C. land sparks debate amid 51st state talk

People who live on Vancouver Island and some smaller neighbouring islands have been hotly debating an application made by an American non-profit to use B.C. Crown land for campsites while on kayak trips.

National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), which runs outdoor expeditions around the world, is applying to renew — and expand — a licence the province says it has held since 2006.

The application is to permit NOLS to camp at 77 locations while leading an eight- to 10-person kayak trip from Washington to Alaska next summer. Most of the locations, which range from 0.3-4.6 hectares, are on and around Vancouver Island.

TDSB teacher allegedly showed Charlie Kirk assassination video to 10- and 11-year-olds, told students he deserved to be killed

A public school teacher has been suspended after allegedly showing a video of Charlie Kirk’s assassination to students as young as 10 in his class, authorities in Canada said.

The teacher also suggested that Kirk deserved to be killed, and gave the young students a speech about anti-fascism and transgender issues, according to a report.

“Several students from his class went home and complained to their parents, traumatized at witnessing the on-camera death, which they were forced to witness numerous times over,” a source told the Toronto Sun after the shocking incident at a school in Toronto on Thursday.
