Tech giant Amazon released a set of James Bond posters on its Prime Video platform showing the fictional spy without guns, sparking criticism from fans and media outlets over the artwork’s woke approach.

The reasoning behind the gun-free edits has not been publicly explained, though similar changes have occurred in promotional material for other franchises, including Disney’s Han Solo (part of Star Wars).

The posters had depicted actors such as Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig without their signature firearms.

Like hundreds of thousands of people this summer Ali Jones was mad for it. “I spent six months trying to get resale tickets for the Oasis concert in Cardiff,” says Jones, who landed two tickets for the opening night of the band’s reunion tour, two weeks before the big night, at £500 each.

He didn’t stop there. Jones, who works in the wine business, bought four tickets for Heaton Park in Manchester at £120 a pop, then two more for Wembley Stadium, a snip at £80 each. Add in travel, hotels, beer and food, and he estimates that he spent well over £2,000 for the Oasis experience. While it hasn’t gone down well with his fiancée, given the couple are in the process of buying a house, Jones has no regrets.

How’s business? Sucks.

Owners of historic pub The Silent Woman spark row after changing its 100-year-old name which was inspired by Thomas Hardy

The ‘woke’ owners of a historic Dorset pub have been criticised for changing the public house’s century-old name.

The pub in Wareham has been known as The Silent Woman since the 1920s.

Its name was inspired by the famous author, and Dorset native, Thomas Hardy who referred to it as ‘The Quiet Woman’ in his 1878 novel The Return of the Native.

With the hope of starting a new life in Canada alongside his wife and children, Dattaray Avhad paid a lawyer over $24,000 to help him find a job as a cook in Newfoundland and Labrador and obtain permanent residency.

But more than a year later, he is on a work permit for vulnerable workers and is picking up shifts as a cab driver, with no clear path toward permanent residency.

He’s still fighting to get his money back.
