See attractions, get attracted: This is one way Canada is trying to help new immigrants decide to stay
The Canoo app gives newcomers and new citizens free access to more than 1,400 cultural attractions and national parks to make exploring easier.
On a week-long road trip to Canada’s East Coast, newcomer Eduardo Santana didn’t expect a potato museum to become one of his favourite discoveries.
In Prince Edward Island, the 41-year-old software engineer from the Dominican Republic — who says with a laugh that he “really loves potatoes” — found himself wandering through antique and modern potato cultivation machines and many varieties of spuds he never knew existed, grown in the province’s iconic iron-rich red soil.
Santana said he learned about a surprisingly “rich history of potatoes,” and it helped him feel a little closer to a country he was still getting to know and now calls home.

A British-Egyptian man released from prison in Egypt made violent and offensive remarks in social media posts.
On Friday Sir Keir Starmer expressed his “delight” that Alaa Abd El-Fattah, a pro-democracy activist and former political prisoner, had been reunited with his family in the UK after Egypt lifted a travel ban on his movements.
On Saturday, however, a large number of historic messages, which appear to have been published on an X/Twitter account belonging to Fattah from over a decade ago, were being shared widely online. They appeared to show him endorsing the killing of “zionists” and “police.”

Trucker caught with cocaine at MTO scales: Lambton OPP
Another truck driver has been arrested in the Sarnia area and charged with smuggling drugs into Canada, but this time at a Ministry of Transportation inspection area on Highway 402 and not the Blue Water Bridge, Lambton OPP say.
Harmeet Dhamoon, 43, from London, has been charged with importing cocaine and possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The accused has been held in custody and is due back in court on Tuesday, police said.

The American alcohol industry is grappling with severe financial headwinds as 2025 comes to a close, marked by a wave of bankruptcies and the lowest consumer drinking rates recorded in nearly a century.

You simply cannot hate and/or mock the Left-dominated media enough. Even Christmas is not safe from being targeted by their joyless, ham-fisted propaganda to project their own campaign of cultural subversion onto some straw man they relentlessly label the “far-right.”
Families and shoppers were just trying to enjoy the light show and pick up some Boxing Day deals at the Eaton Centre when the Hamasniks showed up.
Protesters disrupt the Eaton Centre’s hourly “Light & Snow” show, using megaphones to chant while embedded in the crowd of Boxing Day shoppers.
Several familiar faces appeared, the same people who routinely commandeer public events and spaces to advance their message.

Carried out with gruesome, sadistic relish by killers who seemed to revel in their notoriety, these are murders which still transfix America today.
In 1947 an aspiring Hollywood actress known as the Black Dahlia was found dead in Los Angeles. Her mutilated body was severed clean in half at the waist, a grotesque smile carved into her cheeks.
Two decades later, the ‘Zodiac’ killer emerged from the shadows and plunged northern California into a world of fear. Stalking young couples under cover of darkness, this second monster claimed at least five victims and taunted the police and newspapers with letters and cryptograms, daring them to unravel his identity.
