During quiet moments, after he has finished lecturing for the day, Dr John Stone has flashbacks. It’s not the blood or the sound of the gunshots that haunt him. It’s the begging. The way people beg for mercy when they die. Begging him. Begging God.

Dr Stone teaches political science at the University of Benin, in south-east Nigeria. But for decades he was a senior member of Black Axe – a Nigerian mafia-style gang tied to human trafficking, internet fraud and murder. Locally, Black Axe are referred to as a “cult,” a nod to their secret initiation rituals and the intense loyalty of their members. They are also infamous for extreme violence. Images of those who cross their path – dead bodies mutilated or showing signs of torture – regularly surface on Nigerian social media.
Scottish government under fire for asking kids about ‘anal sex’
Scotland’s privacy regulators are investigating a government census asking children as young as 14 a range of intimate questions about their sex lives, including whether they’ve ever had anal sex.
Drafted by the government, the controversial ‘Health and Wellbeing Census’ has already been handed out to secondary school students in 11 of Scotland’s 32 local authorities, The Herald reported on Saturday. A total of 14 have declined to distribute it, while others want changes to a controversial section on sexual health.
This section asks children whether they have had “sexual experiences,” including “oral sex” or “vaginal or anal sex.” Other questions ask how many sexual partners the children have had in the past year, and a full list of questions has not been made available to parents.

The bearded 6ft reporter who was told he can use the female changing rooms
High street retailers are allowing men to use their female changing rooms – so long as they say they identify as women.
An investigation by The Mail on Sunday has found that shops, including luxury retailers, will welcome men into traditional female spaces if they do so.
A 6ft-tall male reporter with a beard, who said he identified as woman, was given permission to use fitting rooms in the female sections of stores including Selfridges, Matalan, Uniqlo and even the lingerie brand Agent Provocateur’s concession in Harrods.
EA tells Kyle Rittenhouse his name could cause ‘harm’
Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot three people in self-defense during riots last year, has had his EA online account targeted by the gaming company for using his own name, which EA says could “harm others or negatively disrupt the game.”
Rittenhouse’s legal woes ended last month when a jury in Kenosha, Wisconsin, found him not guilty of murder, attempted murder and reckelss endangerment. The charges stemmed from his shooting dead of two men who attacked him, and injuring another, during Black Lives Matter protests in the Wisconsin city last August.

Two Seattle artists charged with faking Native American heritage
Two Washington state artists have been being charged with pretending to be Native American carvers to sell works at downtown Seattle galleries.
Lewis Anthony Rath, 52, and Jerry Chris Van Dyke, 67, were charged separately by the feds with violating the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, which prohibits misrepresentation in the selling of American Indian or Alaska Native arts and crafts, authorities said Friday.
Seattle? Bet they were extra woke too.

Chris Cuomo’s CNN producer charged with luring girls for ‘sexual’ training
A veteran CNN producer who worked “shoulder to shoulder” with now disgraced ex-anchor Chris Cuomo has been indicted on charges of luring young girls to his Vermont ski house for “sexual subservience” training.
John Griffin, of Stamford, CT, allegedly used messaging apps to befriend and persuade moms of young girls, telling them “a woman is a woman regardless of her age,” and that he should be the one to “train” their daughters sexually, according to the indictment from the US Attorney of Vermont.
