New StatsCan Survey Shows Canadians Losing Faith in Parliament and Media

Canada is experiencing a quiet but unmistakable crisis of legitimacy, and the numbers prove it.

New data from the Statistics Canada Canadian Social Survey for the fourth quarter of 2024 shows what many Canadians already feel in their gut: confidence in the country’s most powerful institutions is eroding fast. And nowhere is that collapse more obvious than in Federal Parliament and the Canadian media.

More Canadian millionaires are seeking to move abroad. Why do so many never take off?

Lawyers and financial planners across the country are fielding more calls from Canadians asking what it would take to leave the country. But while interest in emigrating appears to be rising, many of those inquiries never turn into an actual move.

Rahul Sharma, a partner at law firm Fasken, describes many would-be emigrants as “tire kickers.” They’re typically wealthy Canadians over the age of 50 who explore their options, imagine a different lifestyle and shop around for a new country, only to stay put in Canada once they confront the true costs and legal complexity of leaving.

Staging the Gaza Famine

Maintaining the famine narrative by confiscating humanitarian aid, starving the Gaza population, and staging emotional photographs is Hamas’s deceptive war strategy to vilify Israel.

One of the most powerful weapons Hamas has wielded against Israel over the past two years is not used on the battlefield, but propagated through the media.

Not standing a chance in combat against the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), Hamas’s most effective war strategy has been the global propagation of false narratives that accuse Israel of war crime violations, such as genocide and famine. These allegations work to delegitimize the IDF’s presence in Gaza and distract the world from Hamas’s atrocities.

Audit finds half of New York’s commercial trucking licenses went to illegal alien drivers

WASHINGTON — Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy threatened Friday to yank $73 million in federal highway funding meant for New York after an audit found more than half of the Empire State’s commercial trucking licenses were issued to foreign-born drivers in the US illegally.

Duffy issued the warning after the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration reviewed all non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles and found a 53% failure rate.

Anyone injured in a truck crash will or should be suing if the driver is proven to be an illegal alien.

‘I don’t know who I can trust,’ says Quebec YouTuber harassed by Chinese government

We don’t know who to trust either.

Yao Zhang says she doesn’t have any friends, yet every week, thousands of her 175,000 YouTube subscribers tune in to her channel to listen to her live takes on Chinese current affairs.

“China isn’t a democratic country. Everyone suffers in that regime,” Zhang told Radio-Canada during an interview held somewhere between Montreal and Quebec City.

Concerned for her safety, the 39-year-old guards any information that could give away her location.
