Ontario Provincial Police addressed a road rage incident that turned into a fist fight on Highway 401 in Toronto earlier this week.
The altercation happened on Highway 401 and Leslie Street on Tuesday at around 5 p.m.

Mayor Olivia Chow has begun publicly campaigning for a new way to fund Toronto’s budget, which is collapsing under the pressures of housing, transit and old infrastructure.

Toronto’s public health unit has issued an alert warning of a spike in opioid-related overdose deaths in the city since Aug. 31.
Toronto Public Health (TPH) says 11 people died of suspected opioid-related overdoes between Aug. 31 and Sept. 6, which the health agency says is double the weekly average for the city.
TPH says there have been recent reports of red and green fentanyl linked to overdoses both in the community and at supervised consumption sites, though specific information about those drugs is not yet available. The city’s drug-checking service, according to a media release from Toronto Public Health, continues to find other highly potent opioids and benzodiazepine-drugs in samples expected to be fentanyl.

… Debate about the municipal sales tax could be one of the most contentious parts of the package proposed by staff.
Some have already spoken out against the measure, including Councillor James Pasternak, who represents York Centre, Ward 6. He said the sales tax will hurt people at a time when many are struggling with the increasing cost of living.
“A made-in-Toronto sales tax, it just won’t work,” he said. “People will shop elsewhere, they will leave our jurisdiction and shop at retail stores outside of Toronto.”
I hope they do approve the sales tax, there may be hope of a resurrection once the city is ground into progressive dust.
