A grieving father whose son was killed in the Tumbler Ridge mass shooting said his 12-year-old son loved school so much he cried when his father once suggested home schooling.
“Our son went to school this morning and it happened that someone came to school with a GUN went to my kids classroom shot some kids and my son was killed too just like that,” Abel Mwansa said in an emotional Facebook tribute to his son, Abel.
They are already sanitizing him.
Within hours of the massacre at Tumbler Ridge Secondary, the usual machinery kicked into gear. Politicians offered “thoughts and prayers.” Flags lowered. Prime Minister Mark Carney “suspended” his schedule. Pierre Poilievre tweeted his condolences, and meant them, because that is what decent people do when a community is gutted.
But nobody said what Jesse Strang actually was, transgender.

A 12-year-old girl is fighting for life in hospital after she was shot in the head and neck by a school shooter in Canada.
Maya Gebala was one of at least two-dozen children and teachers wounded when a ‘female in a dress’ opened fire at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School.
At least seven people were killed in the shooting at the small town in eastern British Columbia on Tuesday in Canada’s deadliest mass shooting in 40 years.

The suspect in the shootings that killed two Brown University students and a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor left behind videos that provide some new insight into what might have driven him, according to a transcript of video footage released by federal law enforcement officials on Tuesday.
The suspect, Claudio Neves Valente, made the videos before taking his own life in a storage facility in Salem, N.H., and investigators found them on Mr. Neves Valente’s devices.
They were recorded in Portuguese, and the authorities had the videos translated to English.

A suspect in the Brown University shooting that left two students dead and nine others wounded has been identified after an ineffectual six-day manhunt, sources tell The Post.
The perpetrator, whom authorities have not publicly named, managed to elude authorities for nearly a week after he opened fire inside a classroom and then escaped into the surrounding streets of Providence, Rhode Island, on Saturday.
Authorities are under mounting pressure to track down the ‘organized’ tubby at-large suspect who killed two people and injured nine more in a horror shooting at Brown University.
The bungled response from law enforcement has been widely criticized in the days following the incident on Saturday, including the release of a ‘person of interest’ who was found not to be the killer.
Cops had also previously announced that they had a suspect ‘in custody’ in the aftermath of the killings before walking back the news, and shared conflicting reports of a secondary shooting that were ‘unfounded.’

The news of Cook’s death was shared during a service at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in her hometown of Birmingham.
