Will Human Rights Watch Regain Lost Respect?

For three decades, Human Rights Watch (HRW) – under executive director Ken Roth – was transformed from a respected rights group into a leading anti-Israel advocacy organization. Reflecting a deeply personal obsession with portraying Israel as the world’s worst violator of human rights, Roth filled the NGO with anti-Israel activists. As a result, the principles of universal human rights were widely discredited and reduced to empty slogans. All Israeli responses to mass terror were automatically distorted and demonized as alleged war crimes – no defensive action was considered legitimate.

Human Rights Watch’s Jihad Against Israel

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has once again exposed its unvarnished anti-Israel bias by alleging that Israel systematically targets Palestinian children. The outrageous — and false — allegation was included in a new report published by HRW on August 28 under the title: “West Bank: Spike in Israeli killings of Palestinian children.” The report claims that “the Israeli military and border police forces are killing Palestinian children with virtually no recourse for accountability.”

Human Rights Watch accuses Israel of ‘apartheid’ crimes against Palestinians

An international rights watchdog accused Israel on Tuesday of pursuing policies of apartheid and persecution against Palestinians – and against its own Arab minority – that amount to crimes against humanity.

New York-based Human Rights Watch published a 213-page report which, it said, was not aimed at comparing Israel with apartheid-era South Africa but rather at assessing “whether specific acts and policies” constitute apartheid as defined under international law.

Israel’s foreign ministry rejected the claims as “both preposterous and false” and accused HRW of harbouring an “anti-Israeli agenda,” saying the group had sought “for years to promote boycotts against Israel”.

HRW is not known for it’s objective analysis of Middle Eastern affairs.
