JD Vance Just Nailed the Reason Why Abdul Al-Sayed Won

Vice President JD Vance perfectly explained why Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed defeated his moderate opponent in Tuesday’s Senate primary election.

During an interview on Fox News, Vance noted that “the base of the Democratic Party just wants radicals. It wants these DSA types. It wants people who hate even the idea of private property ownership.”

The Problem with City-Owned Grocery Stores

The Problem with City-Owned Grocery Stores

Of all Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s initiatives, his proposal to build five “affordable, well-run, city-owned grocery stores” to address high food costs is probably the most novel and puzzling. New York City will invest tens of millions of dollars to build brand-new supermarkets across the five boroughs and bid out the right to manage these franchises. In exchange for paying no rent, the store operators must agree to sell a basket of staples at 30 percent below the average retail price. Such a plan, if enacted, would use taxpayer dollars to undercut neighborhood grocery stores while doing little to reduce food prices.

Highly credentialed, underemployed, and furious: Meet the DSA

Highly credentialed, underemployed, and furious: Meet the DSA

Peter Turchin has a theory called elite overproduction. A society trains more people for high-status positions than it has positions to give them. The surplus doesn’t disappear. It becomes a pool of credentialed, underemployed people who did everything they were told and received less than they were promised.

A movement’s demographics are not incidental to its politics — they are close to the whole explanation. Turchin traced the pattern to revolutionary France, where a surplus of law graduates shut out of the aristocracy’s professional class became disproportionately represented among the revolution’s leaders.

New Liberal leadership candidate promotes rent freeze, free GO Transit

A $22 minimum wage, a rent freeze and free GO Transit are on the agenda for housing executive Vikram Handa as he enters Ontario’s Liberal leadership race ahead of Friday’s 5 p.m. deadline.

The bilingual graduate of Oakwood Collegiate in Toronto and the University of British Columbia law school has been quietly touring the province gathering ideas for his campaign in the Nov. 21 contest.

Sounds like a stealth Mamdani.

Nolte: One-Third of Democrats Identify as Democrat Socialists

Nolte: One-Third of Democrats Identify as Democrat Socialists

Far-left CNN reports that “about a third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults identify as democratic socialists,” per the latest polling.

This is a big problem for an increasingly radicalized Democrat Party that continues to move further and further to the left and far out of mainstream thinking on issues like abolishing prisons, abolishing the U.S. Senate, sexualizing and queering little kids, defunding the police, open borders, socialized medicine, annihilating Israel, and outright property confiscation.

Mamdani publishes hit list of celebrities facing hiked property taxes

Some of Zohran Mamdani’s biggest celebrity backers have been named on a list of homeowners who may have to pay his controversial new “pied-à-terre tax”.

Anna Wintour, former editor-in-chief of Vogue, is on the list of people whose second homes will face surcharges, which could cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Cynthia Nixon, the Sex and the City star, also features on the list released by the New York City department of finance.

Oh I’m sure a reduction will be made for the luvvies.

A Small Band of Socialists Is Sowing Panic in the Democratic Party

A Small Band of Socialists Is Sowing Panic in the Democratic Party

Megan Romer likes to spend her free time sewing costumes for school plays, picking blackberries in her backyard in rural Cayuga County, N.Y., and watching her partner play the fiddle in folk bands.

In her day job, she is seeking to overthrow capitalism.

Romer, 42 years old, is the national co-chairwoman of the Democratic Socialists of America, the far-left organization whose candidates have swept to victory in several recent high-profile races by preying on Democratic incumbents. The next showdown comes next Tuesday, when Congressional primaries in Missouri and Michigan again pit Democratic socialists against incumbent Democrats.

The radical left-wing takeover of the Democrats is nearly complete

The radical left-wing takeover of the Democrats is nearly complete

Tuesday 4 August could prove to be a turning point in American political history. If Democratic primary voters in Michigan choose Haley Stevens, a moderate, as their Senate nominee, the party establishment should stagger on, perhaps up to and beyond the presidential election of 2028.

It’s more likely, however, that the Democrats will elect Dr Abdul El-Sayed, a pro-Palestine radical who supports Medicare for All and the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. El-Sayed’s victory would confirm that the hard left is the coming force in national politics, and suggest that the long-anticipated socialist takeover of the oldest party in the US – the party of Andrew Jackson, Harry Truman and Bill Clinton – is finally under way. Just as Donald Trump’s MAGA movement began to devour a rotten Republican party in 2015, a vengeful left-wing populism seems ready to swallow the much-loathed Democratic elite. The only part that’s missing is the element of surprise.

Trump revives old tropes as he pushes warnings of ‘communist menace’ warns hoary old commie rag

Perhaps above all else, Donald Trump is a child of the cold war.

Three months before the US president was born, Winston Churchill delivered a historic speech in Fulton, Missouri, that ushered in a generations-long existential struggle between western capitalism and Soviet communism.

Lamenting the spread of Soviet communism across eastern Europe following the allied victory in the second world war, Churchill – by then no longer British prime minister – warned his audience on 5 March 1946 that “an iron curtain has descended across the continent”.

Communism not a menace? Who knew!

DSA Assault on Prisons Is Rooted in Third World Lust for Barbarism

DSA Assault on Prisons Is Rooted in Third World Lust for Barbarism

The Democratic Socialists of America are having a moment. In fact, they’re having a season. DSA candidates are winning nationwide in Democratic Party primaries, knocking off incumbents while running on some of the most deformed and deranged platforms in recent political memory. Zohran Mamdani, the charismatic young socialist in Gracie Mansion, is the new leader of the DSA pack. Terrifying as it may be, Zo may be the closest thing the entire activist left has these days to a kingmaker.

The DSA’s Ideal Voter Is Exactly Who You’d Expect

The DSA’s Ideal Voter Is Exactly Who You’d Expect

While we’ve previously covered that the voting bloc driving the socialist surge in places like New York City is largely made up of wealthy, white, college-educated voters, statistician Nate Silver has narrowed that group down even further.

In a new analysis, Silver found that voters most likely to be sympathetic to Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidates are highly educated and have relatively low incomes. In other words, the sweet spot is not just college-educated voters, but college-educated voters who have managed to pair credentialed grievance with economic disappointment.

America needs a new Red Scare

America needs a new Red Scare

Adolf Hitler was something of a piker compared to Mao, the greatest mass murderer in mankind’s history. It’s impossible to measure the misery, destitution, and death inflicted by the communist dictator. Was it 20, 30, 40 million dead? We don’t really know.

For the sake of moral clarity, however, let’s concede that celebrating Mao is as grotesque as celebrating Hitler. No decent human being would do it. No decent society would normalize it.

DSA members exhibit their rabid hatred for America and we should be very concerned

Linda Sarsour, a radical Islamic activist who works with the benign-sounding but terrorist supporting Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), wants to dispense with the Declaration of Independence — arguably the grandest and most important document ever conceived and written by human beings — and replace it with one based on her values and principles.

Because, of course she does, she’s a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America, a misnomer on the order of the People’s Republic of China.
