Massive crowds gathered in central London on Saturday to protest lockdown measures designed to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, and police followed through on their promise to arrest demonstrators, leading to multiple clashes.
Ahead of the protest, Metropolitan Police released a statement warning anyone planning to travel to King’s Cross that current lockdown measures do not permit massive crowds.

But that is not the biggest news of Barbecue Revolt Day 4.
The Church of God Restoration near Steinbach, Manitoba, was given a $5,000 ticket—the maximum allowed under the province’s public health act—after holding an in-person service days after the province had banned all faith-based gatherings amid a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Senior Pastor Henry Hildebrandt said the church regularly reminded members of the province’s health protocols and requirements, and supplied them with free masks if needed. He questioned why the province banned church services while allowing “liquor, cannabis, department and big box stores” to remain open.
On day three of what will now be known as “The Great Canadian BBQ Rebellion,” I returned to Adamson Barbecue to continue to cover the incredible anti-lockdown protest that was sparked by Adam Skelly’s civil disobedience.
Adam Skelly will be in court today to continue his BBQ Rebellion battle with the city and province.
It seems many supporters want to help him do that.
The announcement that Eric Clapton and Van Morrison have teamed up on a song critical of Covid-19 lockdowns has the legendary musicians facing a barrage of criticism on social media — before anyone has even heard the tune.
The single, titled ‘Stand and Deliver,’ was written by Morrison and performed by Clapton and will be released on December 4. Proceeds from the song will support Morrison’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund, which provides assistance to musicians struggling financially due to lockdown measures preventing many live music performances.

A majority of Canadians say they still agree with prolonged shutdowns and restrictions to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, according to a new poll — though almost half say they are getting tired of those same precautions.
According to new polling from Ipsos, over seven out of 10 Canadians indicated support for a four-week shutdown of non-essential businesses in order to combat Canada’s growing numbers of new COVID-19 cases, while another 87 per cent say they intend to continue taking health precautions seriously until the spring.
Ontario is reporting a record number of new cases of COVID-19 but it comes as the province’s labs turned around more than 58,000 individual tests, pointing to a lower positivity percentage overall.
The Ministry of Health says that there were 1,855 new cases of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus confirmed on Thursday.
