‘We don’t know the details of what happened beforehand but I’m bothered that no one is asking what could’ve scared a 16-year-old girl enough that she felt that she had to grab a kitchen knife facing two adult women,’ Reid said.

‘No one’s asking what would’ve scared a kid who’s in a foster situation so much that she felt that she needed to defend herself or pick up a knife,’ she added.

Ma’Khia Bryant’s biological mother plans to sue after after her daughter was shot and killed by police outside of her home, it has been revealed.

Deja Torrence, the 16-year-old girl’s cousin, told Insider that her mother Hazel Bryant had spoken with Bryant’s biological mother Paula throughout the week.

Torrence said that they were in talks with a lawyer to file a lawsuit in the wake of Bryant’s death outside her foster home in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has said Derek Chauvin’s conviction was a ‘victory in accountability’ but George Floyd’s murder and the cop killing of Ma’Khia Bryant prove the criminal justice system is ‘broken’ and should be abolished.

Cullors, who set up BLM with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi back in 2013, posted a video on Instagram Thursday where she told her 371,000 followers that now was the time to ‘fight for more’ and ‘get us closer to a place where there are no jails or prisons or surveillance’ in America.

New video, apparently from a surveillance camera across the street, conclusively justified the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio. A tweet from Matt Walsh has already garnered well over a million views, with the video and audio revealing the murderous intent and the heroic rescue.

The Daily Caller reported that Black Lives Matter activists protesting near where 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant was fatally shot by a police officer threatened to kill police in retaliation, a video posted to Twitter Thursday shows.

“We’re not gonna sit here and just sit around while you shoot and kill us and go back to the suburbs,” an unidentified protestor says. “We’re sick … maybe it needs to be an eye for an eye” he continued, with some protesters saying “yeah” in agreement, according to the report.

A mural in Houston commemorating George Floyd was vandalized with a racial epithet early Thursday morning.

Houston Police chief Troy Finner told reporters that “some knucklehead” defaced the mural and that he is unsure of the vandal’s exact motivation.

MINNEAPOLIS — Black-owned businesses at the intersection where George Floyd was killed by police last year — now known as George Floyd Square — say they are in dire straits.

The funeral for Daunte Demetrius Wright at noon Thursday at Shiloh Temple International Ministries is expected to draw hundreds of mourners. The family is also livestreaming the funeral on Facebook. National civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy for the 20-year-old father with the family’s attorney Ben Crump and family members also making remarks.
