Transgender athletes condemn ban on inclusion in female events
SYDNEY/LOS ANGELES, March 24 (Reuters) – Transgender athletes have condemned World Athletics’ exclusion of transgender women from elite female competitions, while the decision was welcomed by some sportswomen as a win for fairness.
Athletics’ global governing body on Thursday voted to ban transgender women who have gone through male puberty from competing in women’s events, citing a “need to protect the female category”.

As maddening as transgender ideology can be on this side of the pond, the USA stands as a reminder that things could be so much worse. Minnesota’s Democratic Lieutenant Governor has given full-throated support for an executive order aimed at protecting access to “gender affirming care” such as sex changes and puberty blockers. “When our children tell us who they are”, she said, “it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent”.
They tried to make Jazz the example of how amazing gender transition is. All they did was show how bad it is.
The story of Jazz Jennings, whose parents began their attempts to transition him to female when he was just 5 years old, had a major impact on the acceptance of transgenderism in America. As a child who made TV appearances with Barbara Walters, Jennings was the example par excellence for the perspective that some people innately belong to the opposite gender — an argument that was made more convincing because Jennings’ parents had treated him as a girl since early childhood.

A California teenager has started to sue the doctors who at age 13 cut off her breasts in a medical gender change she now bitterly regrets, in America’s latest blockbuster trans lawsuit.
The 18-year-old, who is referred to as Layla Jane, says she should never have been put through the ‘torment’ of testosterone hormones at age 12 and puberty blockers and surgery the next year.
She is one of a growing number of detransitioners, as they are known, who come to regret their procedures and sue the doctors they accuse of pushing them into irreversible treatments instead of counselling.
“I had no idea what the whole ‘gender identity’ thing was,” says the mother of a transgender teenager whose daughter now identifies as a boy.
“She was demanding a new name, new pronouns. And I was saying, ‘slow down, what’s going on?’
“I didn’t know what a pronoun was. I was that naive.”
Tens of thousands of Canadians are joining a call for the Canadian government to help transgender and non-binary people fearing the outcome of anti-LGBTQ legislation gaining ground in the United States and other countries.
Cait Glasson, an activist in Waterloo, Ont., launched an online petition to the House of Commons, asking the federal government to extend the right to claim asylum “by reason of eliminationist laws in their home countries, whatever country that may be.”
