Carney’s most consequential decision to date is shrinking Canadians’ dreams

CAF Toy Box

Mark Carney’s dramatic escalation of military spending will change Canada — far more than has been acknowledged.

Without any clear assessment of our military needs, the prime minister has embarked on a massive military spending spree, which has suddenly immersed us in plans to spend $100 billion on submarines, and billions more on fighter jets.

All this has redrawn the boundaries of our national ambitions, redirecting vast resources into military firepower, forcing us to shrink our dreams of other things we could achieve together as a nation.

I guess we’ll be OK if we sing “Imagine” as the ChiCom tanks roll down Yonge St.
