OTTAWA — Canada won’t share toll revenues from the Gordie Howe International Bridge with the United States until the project’s debts are repaid, with Prime Minister Mark Carney stating on Thursday that the $6.4-billion crossing may run operating losses in its early years.
“It’s not splitting the tolls at the bridge. It is an agreement for 15 years to split net revenues,” Carney said at a news conference in London, Ont. “Any sharing of the toll revenue won’t happen until all of the debt is repaid.
