After months of protesting outside Queen’s Park, hundreds of applicants who say they were wrongly caught up in Ontario’s crackdown on immigration fraud are taking their fight to court.
A panel of three judges is scheduled to hear a judicial review on July 8 involving applicants whose Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) applications were returned last year. The applicants argue the province unfairly grouped legitimate workers with fraudulent applications by returning thousands of files without individually assessing them.
