‘Why did you want to make this documentary?’ That is the question – over portentous piano chords – that begins the trailer for the next instalment in the apparently endless Sussex saga, Harry and Meghan. The answers that the viewer might supply: publicity-seeking on a grand scale; unbelievable narcissism– are not uttered. Instead, over stylised black and white photographs of the duo kissing, being crazily in love and every inch the perfect couple, Harry replies, with becoming grimness, ‘No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors.’ Cue pictures of Meghan apparently in tears looking at her phone; the Royal Family aloof and cold; and a million photographers, their cameras thrust priapically aloft. Oh, the drama.

Climate change activist Meghan Markle has been spotted yet again traveling by private jet, this time boarding an aircraft in Indianapolis following her speaking engagement at “The Power of Women” summit.

Netflix has released a first glimpse of its multimillion-pound documentary featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In another clip Meghan says: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

When the dramatic account emerged last week of how the Duke of York had been reduced to tears when he was told by his brother Charles, then the Prince of Wales, that he would never return to public duties, it raised an intriguing question. Why had Prince Andrew not figured that out already?

But ever since he had been forced to step down from royal duties there had been repeated reports that there was no way back for Andrew. Three cheers for whoever came up with the title of Prince Harry’s new autobiography, Spare. It’s punchy — and it evokes a sense of sadness. Is this how Harry has always felt? Like a disposable spare part?

The “heir and the spare” describes the first in line to the throne and the “reserve” monarch. It may sound cruel — and perhaps it is — but as soon as hereditary systems were established, queens and kings recognized that to ensure continuity and stability for their monarchy, it was necessary to have a healthy male heir and one in reserve should the eldest one die — which they often did.

Spoiled and manipulated is not a good look Harry.

The Royal Family’s lawyers are on standby for Prince Harry’s ‘nuclear’ memoir amid fears it is ‘critical of everyone and everything’ and that reports of it being toned down are ‘overblown’.

Billed as a work of ‘raw, unflinching honesty’, the controversial book will be eye-catchingly called Spare – a ‘loaded’ reference to his position as the younger brother of the heir to the throne.

Family members were not informed of the Spare title in advance of the announcement yesterday, while the Spanish language version is even more pointed, having been given the subtitle En La Sombra, or ‘in the shadow’.

Yves-François Blanchet, leader of Bloc Québécois, says ‘slave-driven’ British monarchy is ‘archaic’ and ‘humiliating’

The leader of Canada’s Quebec separatist party has renewed calls for the country to sever its ties with the “incredibly racist” and “slave-driven” British monarchy ahead of the coronation of King Charles III.

The Bloc Québécois leader, Yves-François Blanchet, tabled a motion on Tuesday, widely seen as purely symbolic, in the House of Commons.

“It’s archaic. It’s a thing of the past. It’s almost archaeological. It’s humiliating,” Blanchet told lawmakers of Canada’s longstanding ties to the monarchy.
