2 Hospitalized After ‘White Powdery Substance’ Discovered At Ted Cruz Campaign Office

Less than an hour after CNN reported that two envelopes tainted with the deadly poison ricin had been intercepted at a Pentagon Mail Facility (the pieces of mail were addressed to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Navy Admiral John Richardson), the Weekly Standard reported that an envelope containing a “white powdery substance” was received by Ted Cruz’s Houston campaign headquarters.

Cruz booed after refusing to endorse Trump

Ted Cruz sensationally withheld an endorsement of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention Wednesday, earning a chorus of boos from the floor before he was upstaged in a power play by the GOP nominee himself.

In a dramatic development, as Cruz wrapped up his speech, Trump suddenly appeared in the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. He walked to join his family in a VIP area and flashed a thumbs-up — a gesture that transmitted clear anger at the Texas senator’s behavior.

GOP officials rip Cruz for withholding Trump support, Gingrich gives endorsement on his behalf

One RNC official called Cruz’s speech “classless,” while a senior GOP operative on the convention floor told Fox News, “I could not believe it. I literally could not believe [Cruz] didn’t endorse Trump. I’m speechless.”

Blogger: ‘Aggressive A**hole Vote’ Now a Key GOP Bloc, Which Explains Success of Trump and Cruz

trump flintlock

“If you take the electorate and subtract every laid off mechanic and guy over 40 who obsessively fantasizes about being a successful golf pro, [Donald] Trump’s support approaches zero,” asserted Longman in a Thursday post. “The GOP has been so denuded of ordinary people that the aggressive a**hole vote is now a big enough plurality of the party to decide their nomination. This becomes doubly clear when you realize that the main alternative to Trump is Ted Cruz, who almost defines the aforementioned term of non-endearment.”

Cruz: Trump Campaign Has ‘Consistent Pattern of Inciting Violence,’ ‘Like Democratic Union Thugs’

ted cruz 2

Cruz said, “I am very troubled at the Trump campaign’s consistent pattern of inciting violence, and threatening violence. Just today, I spoke to the Chairman of the Colorado Republican Party [Steve House], the Trump supporters put out his phone number, put out his address. He’s been receiving death threats. They’re telling people to come to his house with guns, because the Trump campaign is so unhappy that they lost the election.”

Ted Cruz: Drudge Report Is ‘the Attack Site for the Donald Trump Campaign’

Cruz campaigns

Look, Drudge Report over the years has done a good job highlighting the excesses of the left and the excesses of liberalism, and about the past month the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Donald Trump campaign. And so every day they have the latest Trump attack. They’re directed at me.

Richard Milhouse Cruz

‘One of the strange parts of the modern mass media age is that the mainstream is vastly more rigid and doctrinaire than in the prior age. Everyone assumed that the burst of new media platforms would broaden the scope of what is acceptable discourse. In the 90’s we were endlessly hearing about how “new voices” and “new perspectives” would change the conversation. Instead, it was one purging after another as the Overton Window swung left and became increasingly narrow.

The most obvious example that comes to mind is the treatment of Mark Steyn by the Conservative Industrial Complex. He made some glib comments about how homosexuals were discussed in the old days and was pilloried by the hysterical homosexual activist editor of National Review.

…one result of this weird narrowing of the range of acceptable opinion is that decent writers have to figure out how to take the fringe ideas and make them respectable. It’s often an impossible job as so much has been deemed unacceptable. We live in a land where you can be fired from your job because you noticed that guys named Mohamed have a habit of exploding in public.

Comedian Bill Maher Says He’ll Take Cruz Over Trump, It’s a No-Brainer

Maher-Cruz-500x271

When given the choice between a President Donald Trump and President Ted Cruz, Comedian Bill Maher says the choice is easy — he would pick Cruz. On the HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher,” he first took a dig at the current Democratic frontrunner, Hillary Clinton. He said she is not a sure thing because “You need a fall back between suicide and Canada.”

Ted Cruz: Our Last, Best Hope

“…Our elites, to be sure, have sold us down the river. There’s unlimited capital for investors to buy foreclosed homes, while half of Americans can’t raise a down payment or qualify for a home mortgage. The Pentagon and the defense contractors slated a trillion dollars for the F-35, the biggest lemon in the history of military aviation, crowding out every other acquisition program in the military. Our tech companies have become a conspiracy to suppress innovation, managed by patent trolls instead of engineers. The financial industry ran the biggest scam in history, the subprime bubble of the 2000s, and the Obama administration hasn’t sent a single miscreant to jail (it just slapped multi-billion dollar fines on the banks’ stockholders, that is, your pension fund or 401k). The Clintons are a criminal enterprise, as Peter Schweizer showed in his book Clinton Cash. The foreign policy establishment treated the world like a giant social experiment and wasted blood and treasure to make the world safe for democracy.

Trump would be fine by me assuming he keeps his promises. Ted Cruz would as well, assuming he too kept his promises.

But it was Trump who brought the issues of Immigration, Islam and the Robber Baron economy to the fore and in doing so exposed the rot at the core of the GOP.

For that he deserves credit.
