Amazon’s woke (and boring) reimagining of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Rings universe is bleeding viewers when it should be snowballing.

According to the far-left Hollywood Reporter, “The Rings of Power had 988 million minutes of viewing time in the United States from Sept. 12 to 18, per Nielsen (the show’s fourth episode debuted Sept. 16). That’s a decline of about 18 percent from the previous week’s 1.2 billion minutes.”

The series has no connection to Tolkien’s world. No one asked for a ham-fisted reimagining with Gay elves, Bad MAGA people and identity politics.  No wonder people fall asleep watching, it’s just another boring batch of unpalatable leftist twaddle. A pity too as a great deal of money was invested in this. What a waste.

On Thursday, we noted that actor Alec Baldwin had settled the wrongful death lawsuit with the family of Halyna Hutchins. Without a doubt, that removes a lot of stress from the former 30 Rock star.

However, it’s far from the only legal problem he’s dealing with.

Tim Forte, an Amazon analyst, says he was worried about the performance of the company’s billion-dollar Rings of Power boondoggle.

So he decided to give the show a look.

After giving the show a look, he’s even more concerned.

Why?

Like most of us, he fell asleep.

Something happened in American society between the release of Bros last weekend and 2018, when Bohemian Rhapsody, the biopic of gay, HIV-positive Queen front man Freddie Mercury, grossed $900 million at the box office. Comedian Billy Eichner’s gay romcom barely eked out a pathetic $4.8 million on opening night, around the same amount that Ellen “Elliot” Page spent on flannel shirts and Groucho Marx glasses last year. Why the disparity in box office takings? Well, American moviegoers became deeply homophobic.

Alec Baldwin and the family of late “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins have reached an undisclosed settlement in their wrongful death lawsuit against the actor and others.

Hutchins’ widower, Matthew, will be an executive producer on film and receive a portion of the profits, according to a statement from Matthew.

Trevor Noah’s announcement last week that he would be stepping down after seven years on The Daily Show was met with about the same level of attention as when he was announced as host. It trended on Twitter briefly, and then everyone went about their day.

Noah never really caught on with the same media outlets that regularly juiced Jon Stewart, blaring about how he “Destroyed” and “Obliterated” things. There are several reasons why this was the case. One was that Stewart, for all his clown-nose-on-clown-nose-off theatrics, was still a capable and interesting interviewer. He was genuinely curious about his guests and didn’t seem like he was just asking questions handed to him on a notecard. Noah, a traditional stand-up comic, was never able to harness that same ability. He ended up fading into the background of a medium that has been now saturated by late-night hosts copying Jon Stewart (John Oliver, Seth Myers, Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee).

Trevor Noah, the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show for the past seven years, announced Thursday night that he will be leaving the show. He is the latest late-night comedian to depart amid a general ratings slump in the post-Donald Trump era.

Thanks to a slate of off-putting, woketard movies, September’s box office is the lowest since 1997.

“With just $275 million grossed in North America to date, this will be the first September since 1997 with a monthly total of less than $350 million, reports the far-left TheWrap. “To date, the running total for September 2022 is 20% behind last year’s pace and 52% behind the pace set this month in 2019.”

New Mexico prosecutors have indicated they may charge Alec Baldwin over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his movie Rust last year, after the actor handed over his cellphone to be considered as evidence.

In a letter to the state’s financial board, asking for funding to prosecute the high profile case, Santa Fe District Attorney District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said she was ‘ready’ to file charges against four people.

She stopped short of confirming the charges she planned to bring, but said was ‘certainly looking all the homicide statutes and any gun statutes under New Mexico criminal code’.
