The destructive fad is off the rails – and every parent must be ready to act.

As I noted recently, fads aren’t always harmful things. Nehru jackets, lava lamps, and mood rings may have set you back a few bucks, but that was the extent of it. Some fads, like the various eating disorders that were with us in the 1970s, were recognized as dangerous and treated as mental health problems. Today, though, becoming transsexual is treated simply as a lifestyle decision.

For a while, I thought: “why aren’t they more embarrassed? When male sportspeople barge into female categories, stealing places on teams and prizes reserved for women, why don’t they feel a bit, well, ashamed?”

Members of the far-right Proud Boys are facing long prison sentences for their role in the attack on the Capitol on 6 January 2021. But that has not distracted the group from a new target – drag shows.

They started as a drinking club seven years ago, but quickly immersed themselves in street violence and culture wars.

And while Marci Ien declined to comment on whether Ottawa sees a role for itself in any potential court challenges, the cabinet minister said the Liberal government is keeping an eye on what unfolds.

Social media posts from a Richmond city councillor over 2SLGTBQIA+ issues are raising concerns from some in the transgender community.

On Tuesday, coun. Alexa Loo replied to a thread of posts about “parental rights” in reference to controversial mandates that parents be consulted before their child uses different pronouns in school. Saskatchewan and New Brunswick have recently implemented such mandates, with the matter also becoming an election topic in Manitoba.

What a nightmare! She spoke about parents rights and protecting children from Groomers. The Horror!

Testimony, or Evidence?

One might think the fact that the medical establishment is endorsing and performing experimental, irreversible, and often sterilizing medical procedures on children would be an immense journalistic discovery. But a recent New York Times article—investigating allegations made by Jamie Reed, a former case manager at the Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital who blew the whistle on medical malpractice at the clinic traveling under the guise of “gender-affirming care”—downplays the results of that discovery in a way that privileges personal testimony over evidence.
