Continental Breakfast (Understudy Edition)

Joan Collins makes an Omelette* (with a surprisingly accommodating and apologetic Gordon Ramsay).

Backstory: In 1998 a publicity-shy Gordon Ramsay dramatically kicked restaurant critic A. A. Gill out of one of his restaurants. Ms Collins was A. A.’s guest. (Apparently Gordon’s mum is a huge Joan Collins fan.)

*(She actually pronounces it “omelette”.)

Please say things in the comments.

This is a terrific recipe. The tip about taking the middle bit out of the garlic clove is gold, Jerry.*

Tips, links, recipes, random musings, breaking news stories, cute or beautiful pictures, YouTube recommendations, rants etc. are more than welcome in the comments.

*Okay, I’ve just re-watched it and the garlic thing is from something else by this guy. It’s still a very good tip, though. You should remove the green sprouty bit from the middle of the clove. It has an acrid quality.

Alex, AKA That French Guy, tries to master Jacques Pépin’s French Omelette.

If you’re going to make an omelet (omelette?) make it properly is what I say.

Consider this the overnight thread. (Please don’t get started on time zones. I just can’t.) I’m bad at news round-ups (or rounds-up), so feel free to post anything in the way of links, recipes, videos, observations or pictures of cute creatures in the comments. Anyone who posts something remotely interesting gets a cookie. You can’t say fairer than that.

Turns out you really can.

(Don’t let this guy know about it though. He’s still really traumatized and protesty.)

Why Hasn’t Ahmed Hussen Resigned Yet?

….Here’s the problem though.

It’s Hussen’s department who hired CMAC.

And, as noted by Hillel Neuer of UN Watch (an organization that works to hold the UN accountable for their rampant hypocrisy like putting ruthless dictatorships on human rights councils), Hussen is trying to take Canadians for fools:

“Mr. Minister: You are taking us for fools. You are calling on CMAC to answer “how they came to hire Laith Marouf”? Are you not aware that he and his wife Gretchen King *are* CMAC? That they and CMAC share the same address? That it was you and Marouf who announced this program?”

Meanwhile, in California: Elementary School Calls Cops on 4-Year-Old for Violating Mask Mandate

Terrific.

Meghan and Harry Markle

I don’t “follow” the Royal Family. I don’t know who William dated before Kate and I don’t know who Harry’s best friends were at Eton (he got in on merit, dammit) or the army. I couldn’t name Princess Anne’s (not sic) kids, or Edward’s. I thought Princess Diana (sic) was an unstable and dangerously narcissistic woman when she was alive and my opinion hasn’t changed. (Somewhat OT but this from Peter Hitchens is interesting.)

Still, I admit to a morbid train-wreck fascination with scared, angry, confused Harry and his bargain-basement Becky Sharp. Your mileage may vary.

That’s the best I can do Topical Link-Wise just now, but please feel free to add interesting stuff and mouthwatering breakfast recipes in the comments.
