When even recent immigrants think Canada has been absorbing too many immigrants, we learn at least two things.

One is that there’s a good chance Canada’s immigration levels—at least those unleashed during the years when Justin Trudeau was prime minister—have been beyond the country’s ability to absorb. By that I mean the capacity to employ newcomers, house them, educate their children—particularly if they don’t speak either of Canada’s official languages—and provide them with health care and other public services.
