London Police say a man involved in a verbal altercation with a group of women on the Western University campus will not face charges.
Much of the incident was caught on cell phone video. And while racist language can be heard, police say it does not constitute a crime, but rather a hate-incident.
“Hate crime is defined as a crime in the Criminal Code of Canada. It’s a criminal offense. A hate motivated incident is an incident that does not meet the definition of a crime,” explained LPS Acting Insp. Michelle Romano.
Hate incident sounds very UK
Police in London, Ontario are investigating this incident as a hate crime for some reason. 🤷 https://t.co/KSQf7SeHIa
