Audi has been forced to defend plans to build a US car factory to circumvent Donald Trump’s tariffs despite cutting thousands of jobs globally.
The German car giant, owned by Volkswagen, over the weekend unveiled plans for a $4bn (£3bn) assembly plant in Georgia to produce 200,000 SUVs a year.
Gernot Döllner, Audi’s chief executive, appeared onstage next to Mr Trump to confirm the plans during a campaign rally on Sunday just days before the midterm elections.
So the US is doing what Canada did!
