Officials were aware of a fire at CFB Wainwright for several hours before it rapidly spread toward a training area where soldiers were taking part in exercises, killing four Canadian Armed Forces members and wounding dozens of others.
Maj-Gen. L.W. Rutland told reporters during a briefing on Sunday afternoon that the fire broke out as soldiers were taking part in a training exercise ahead of deployment to Latvia.
Friend @Martyupnorth says that the government’s Earthquakes Canada website recorded a 3.7m event in Wainwright as our warriors were dying.
Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and other officials only talk of a fast moving fire – not an explosion.
At this point I’m not sure what the truth is, but the fact is this – I no longer trust or believe the highest institutions and offices in the land.
I require independent verification and credible corroboration for anything that comes from public officials whether appointed or elected.
This is where we are now in Canada.
