France: A Sick Country on a Sick Continent

“Who didn’t see that coming? Oh yeah ….the politicians,” noted “The Great Gats” on X.

The French government was reportedly “taken by surprise” when students began rioting roughly two weeks ago to protest conditions — overcrowded classes, dilapidated buildings, vermin and rats, lack of heating and air-conditioning, shortage of teachers — in their schools.

“But,” American journalist Michael Shellenberger writes, ” French schools have more money per pupil today than at any earlier time…. The French government spends 4.5% of gross domestic product on educational institutions, and Germany spends 3.7%.
