OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney has been sidelined on eight more government decisions because of potential conflicts with his prior businesses, a new report says, including on help for Canada’s airlines and a loan to a Baffin Island mine.
The Privy Council Office, the government department that directly supports the prime minister, reports to the House of Commons Ethics committee every three months about how his ethics screen has been used.
Its latest report, which was sent in a letter dated Aug. 14, revealed Carney has also been kept out of the loop on matters involving housing and the government’s nuclear strategy.
Carney is in it for Carney.
