Yet, one thing has become surprisingly clear. Mark Carney, the Canadian prime minister, is delusional enough to believe his country will come out of this trade war from a position of strength. “We’re stronger now than when the United States started this trade war,” Carney told reporters at a press conference the day after negotiations fell apart.
